Turkish sentence structure is pretty easy to remember:



The subject is always who or what you are talking about... e.g. myself
The object is who or what you refer the verb to... e.g. you
The verb is what you are doing, have done, or will do... e.g. teaching

From these examples we can put together a turkish sentence in english... which will seem slightly strange: I you are teaching.

From this sentence you may think "you" are teaching me, but when we look back at the structure of turkish sentences the subject of this sentence is "me", therefore I am teaching you

Now lets translate this sentence to turkish: ben seni öğretiyorum.

ben = I
seni = you
öğretiyorum = I am teaching
