Caught in the Spyder's Web - Part 2
Fog began to roll in as Willow and I ventured deeper into the village. I didn’t understand; there wasn’t a body of water nearby. So, where was this fog coming from? I began to think that this is where one of the many ghost sightings might be. Maybe I’ll be able to see a spirit here! I got excited; I wanted to see a ghost/spirit with my own eyes.

Willow was shivering, “Spyder… I’m cold…”

I tried to create friction on her arms by rubbing my hands on them. It did get colder, which definitely was not April-like weather. Something is going on here… We were going to find out eventually. Willow gave me a shy smile as a way to let me know that she was okay now. I smiled back at my sister, holding her hand as we wandered.

Suddenly, the village’s vow of silence broke as laughter erupted throughout the village. I felt Willow grasp tighter onto me, frightened by the sound. Goosebumps spread across our bodies as the chills returned.

“W-what was that…?” my sister whimpered once she knew that the laughter stopped. “I t-thought we were alone…”

“I thought we were too…” That was the only way I could reply to her as I was trying to decipher the sound that we heard. It sounded like there were children laughing close by. Nevertheless, the village was as deserted as it could get. How could there be children around here if there is no one living in the village? The laughter erupted again, this time Willow and I found the location where the sound was coming from. Hidden within two frost bathed sakura trees was a giant manor, seeming like it belonged to a very rich family.

Willow held on tight was we walked towards the manor, slowly to make sure that our feet were silent. When we started to climb the mountain of stairs to the manor, a blurred figure bolted right in front of us. It scared Willow so much that she tripped and would have hit her head on the step if I didn’t catch her in time.

“W-what was that?!” Willow screamed just as I caught her.

I shook my head at her; I didn’t have a clue what it was. Was that a spirit bolting in front of us? I didn’t know at that time, but I sort of got the idea. When we finally reached the decayed doors of the manor, Willow was shaking violently.

“I-I’m scared, Spyder… W-we should go back to mommy and daddy…”

“G-good idea…“ I was getting scared too, and I didn’t want us to stay here any longer. Screw the ghost-hunting thing, this village was getting too freaky to be alone in without adults. I was about to turn around when I heard the strangest sound that I’ve ever heard in the village so far.

Ssssspyyyyydeeeeeerrr…

Chills went down my spine; someone was calling my name. But who…? It didn’t come from my sister or my parents from a distance. It was coming from inside the manor…

Spyder…

The voice was mesmerizing; I couldn’t help but place my hands on the door. I slowly pushed the door open, my sister trying to figure out what I was doing. The door screamed as it finally stopped at the spot where it couldn’t budge at all. The voice was still calling my name, pulling me into the darkened manor. Willow didn’t bother to ask me what was going on, she jogged in after me just as the door slammed shut on its own.
