Okay, So I've been browsing the AF for quite a while now and I've been noticing the same people posting "Art Quest" threads over and over again. So I thought I would give some tips about some of the do's and donts in the Art Freebies forum.

Tip 1:
Artists look for people who genuinely want a good art. Never say:

-"Questing to get "insert ridiculous number" Art Pieces!!!!!!!!!!!" -

(awesome) Artists don't want to be part of a collection, we want to know that our art will be special to you, and not just another number in your hordes of art. So if you're questing a ton of art, keep it to your self.

Tip 2:
Artists are never broke, not that they're not looking for tips, but most of time they have a store. Generally some search the AF to "get-away-from-it-all," but one of the biggest turn-offs for an artist to see is: "I'll tip if I like it" or "I'll tip 500g-25k depending how much I like it." If most artists are like myself ,their reaction will be the same as mine, *coughsjokecough* "beg pardon? you'll...tip..if you like it? yea, SCREW YOU." Never ever put anything to like that in your thread. Only hopeful noob artists will draw you.

Artists look for people who genuinely can't afford their work (when they're extremely bored) not those who are "bwahahaha your life is in my hands >D"

Tip 3:
Don't make the title of your thread something Idiotic like "come draw the most beautiful girl in the world" or "COME DRAW ME BITCHES" because artists like to twiddle their fingers in spite and go "teehehehehe no :}". It just makes us feel more powerful that way.

Tip 4:
Dont request fan/anime couples. A lot of artists done care for them. "Draw my character with L tehehehehee, because we're in love" it's not that we can't do it, but those kind of things generally dont interest us, we need to be inspired.


Tip 5:
When posting OCs, post alot of references, but as little text as possible, last thing we want to do is read a wall of text, we're itching to draw D<! We don't care if she was the daughter to the most beautiful woman on earth, dont give us a back ground, just a little bit of personality and references is all we need!

If you dont have any references, make sure to type out a GOOD description of them. When I say good, I dont mean "long thick brown hair and green eyes" because there are so many ways in which that can be interpreted. We want EVERY detail of the hair, eye shape, lip color, body shape, weight, height. Also, please avoid descriptions like "Piercing blue eyes" or "Radiant chocolate brown hair" this isn't a children's book, its a description, keep out the annoying bullshit.

Tip 6:
Don't post standards..."LOOKING FOR EXTREMELY AWESOME ART! 15k FOR THE BEST!" because first of all, 15k is NOT a lot of money in the artistic world, nor is 30k, most artists require MILLIONS per drawing. Also, most artists look for sincere people, not the kind that insult us with 15k for an awesome drawing. Its okay to go "15k in tips."

Another tip, don't put anything to the extent of "no doodles, sketches" or anything similar, this is the FREEBIE thread, if you want DaVinci go to the R&C threads razz . Also, a lot of doodles and sketches can be freakin awesome! Never underestimate an artist.
