I can't let go,
Yet it eats me way.
The light from this shadow,
Is what pushes me forward.
If only I could fly away,
Away from my past,
Would I be happy?
As free as a bird?
And yet I am trapped,
In a cage of sorrow,
With a key in my hand,
Unable to open it.
I know if I let go,
Of the source of my sorrow,
I could live life,
To the best of my ability.
And yet I hold on,
Afraid of the result.
I can't let go.
