Monster world chapter 8-Sarah in chameleon’s lair
After defeating a group of shadow monsters, striker, ziran, and boa pursued chameleon but their injuries were slowing them down a bit but they weren’t about to give up since chameleon kidnapped their friend Sarah. Be strong Sarah, were coming to save you. Ziran thought, focusing on the path chameleon ran off in. I hope striker can handle this mission, he took a real injury from that hunter’s tail swipe. Boa thought while looking at striker bruises. How are you holding up there striker? Ziran asked. Im okay, but that hunter had good reflexes. My advice guys, watch out for that tail of his. Striker said, wincing in pain from his injury. Don’t worry, next time we see him, I’ll knock him into next week. Ziran said. Remember, we still have to find him. Boa said. They continued on the tree covered path looking for that green skinned-friend stealer. Meanwhile chameleon was still jumping from tree to tree with Sarah held over his shoulders. Put me down you fiend right now! Sarah demanded. The answer is no. chameleon said. Why wont you let me go? She asked. Because a hunter never lets his prey go besides, if I were to put you down now, you’d fall to the ground. He said, reminding her that their in the trees. Oh good point, but my friends. She said before getting cut off. Don’t worry, they’ll catch up soon enough, but until then why don’t you Take a nap? Chameleon said as he hit Sarah in the back of her neck, knocking her out almost instantly. Sarah awoke minutes later but she was no longer in the emerald forest, she was in a strange room with a bright light shining on her face. Where am I? And who turned on the light? Sarah thought, I remember being kidnaped and then I got knocked out, and now im laying on something flat and cold. She thought, she tried to get up but she couldn’t move, then she noticed her hands and feet her cuffed to the metal table. Oh no, he’s got me strapped down. Where are you chameleon? She said aloud but nobody answered.
Meanwhile, striker, ziran and boa were still looking for Sarah but sadly, they were clueless on which hunter made structure to look in first. They were hiding in the trees so no hunter could see them. Okay Sarah’s got to be in one of those houses, question is which one? Striker said. Hey boa, can you magically find her of something? Ziran asked. Well, I haven’t really tried it before but it’s worth a shot. Boa said, then he prepared to use his locator spell. Stars, scepters and all that’s good, tell me where Sarah is in this neighborhood. I got it, she’s in the middle structure. Boa said. Way to go boa. Ziran said. Let’s go get her, on the double. Striker said. They moved in, still hiding in the trees but they would soon find it difficult to get inside chameleon’s home.
Back inside chameleon’s home, Sarah was becoming nervous and scared. Chameleon, where are you? Show yourself! Sarah said. Alright, as you wish. A voice said from in front of the table. She looked in front of her but saw nobody was there, but then suddenly a familiar face popped out of nowhere. Ahhh, chameleon? How did you do that? She asked. It’s pretty simple. I can turn invisible at will. It’s an ability that I’ve always had. He said. Well don’t scare me like that and where am I? Sarah asked. My home. I did say I would show you my family heirloom didn’t I? He asked his captive. The sword fragment, you have it? Show me! She said with hope and excitement. Yes I have it right here in my hands. He lifted up his hands and there it was, the wind fragment. It glowed a magnificent green glow. Sarah couldn’t believe her eyes. You do have it. Give it to me! Sarah said. Not so fast. I want to know why you want it?! He said. I-I need it because it can help me find a way to send me home. She said. Home? Come to think of it, you don’t look like any creature I’ve seen before. What are you and where are you from? He asked. Im a human girl and lets just say Im not from around here. Sarah said. Oh I believe that, and from what you’ve said, this heirloom of mine has magic powers. He said. Yes and can you get me off this table? It’s very uncomfortable. She asked hoping the answer was yes. Chameleon thought about it and made his decision. Yes, but for now I’ll only uncuff your hands. He said. Then he proceeded to uncuff her hands.
Meanwhile, at stripes castle. Stripes was displeased that his soldiers failed to capture striker and his friends, but that wasn’t about to stop him. I can’t believe you blundering fools got beaten up by a bunch of children, again. I should turn you all back into stone. However, you have brought me a lot of energy so im giving you all another shot at getting them, and this time don’t hold back! Stripes said, his soldiers could only nod in agreement. All 50 of them disappeared and reappeared in the emerald forest, the shadow monsters were already looking for Sarah and the others.
Back at chameleons lair, striker, ziran and boa had got past enough traps to get inside chameleon’s house. Alright were in. Ziran said, boa covered his mouth. Shh, keep your voice down! We don’t know where Sarah or where that hunter is. Boa said, quietly. I get it, sheesh. Keep a low profile until we find her. Ziran said whispering. Lets go get our friend back, now where’s that hunter? Striker said. They looked at chameleon’s stuff and were surprised by what equipment he had. Stun guns, bear traps, and even cages that were activated by stepping on a button. Man, this guy has more stuff then boa has in a magic bag. Ziran said. He probably has more weapons than Koji has back at the dojo. Boa said. Careful, we don’t want to alert him that were here. Striker said. They were getting closer and closer to finding Sarah, speaking of which.
Chameleon release Sarah’s hands. There, is that better? He asked. Yes, thank you. Not that it’s any of my business but why were you invisible? She asked. Well, I liked watching you sleep. It’s not every day that I get to look at someone as lovely as you sleep. Besides, I like turning invisible. He said. Oh Umm ( What’s with this guy? First he fights me, then he catches me, and now he says im lovely). Sarah thought. Tell you what. I’ll give you the sword piece if you can beat me in a fight. Chameleon said. What? No way. Im still hurt after that last fight. Sarah said, not wanting to fight chameleon. I didn’t hurt you that bad. Besides, your body seems to have made a speedy recovery. My scanner says so. He said. Sarah looked at herself and realized he was right. Most of her bruises were gone, but that wasn’t all chameleon’s scanners told him. It showed him that her exp went up to 285. Your right I feel like im ready to fight. She said. Indeed you are, Huh? He said as his helmets scanners picked up 3 familiar signatures. Well, it seems that your friends have finally showed up. He said. What they’re here? She asked. Yes, they are here and if they want you back, they’ll have to fight me. He said. Striker, ziran and boa finally made their way to the room where chameleon had Sarah held hostage. Alright, he has got to be in there, it’s the only room we haven’t checked yet. Striker said. I agree, lets make him pay for what he did to us. Ziran said. Yeah, lets go get him. Boa said. Striker, ziran and boa came through the hospital like doors and saw chameleon standing right next to Sarah. There you are. I was starting to think you three wouldn’t show up. Chameleon said. Let her go hunter! Striker said. My name is chameleon and no, I wont let her go until you three fight me. He said. Not fair, striker’s still hurt from that last fight. Ziran said. Maybe I should fight him alone. I’ll use my scepter to shock him like last time. Boa said with confidence in his voice. Bring it on. Im not afraid of you or that scepter. Chameleon said. Wait! I’ll fight you. Sarah said. What? But Sarah he really hurt you last time. Striker said. Relax, he didn’t hurt me that bad besides, your still injured from that tail swipe he gave you. Sarah said. Alright, I hope you know what your doing. Striker said. Don’t I always? Now chameleon, please get me off this table so we can have a fair fight. She said. Alright, I did promise you another fight. Im surprised that you changed your mind. Chameleon said. Well I can’t let my friends fight when they’re hurt and tired. She said. Hmm, how nice of you. I like you. But if I win, your all my new pets and if you win, I’ll let you all go free. He said as he released Sarah from the table. Sarah was glad to finally get off that table because her butt was cold.
Im ready, lets do this. Sarah said. Here I come. Chameleon said. Their fight began immediately. Sarah gave him a furry of punches, they had more effect on him then before and he tried his best to fight back but she seemed stronger than earlier and this time she was winning. No way, how could she have gotten stronger so quickly? Chameleon thought. Then he remembered seeing Sarah’s locket glow for no apparent reason, and then he looked at it. Chameleon’s scanner showed him that there was an energy source in the locket. That’s a nice necklace you have Sarah, where did you get it? He asked. Well, my sister gave it to me. Sarah said still fighting. Looks pretty special to me. Huh? Oh boy, we’re in trouble. Chameleon said in a worried tone. What’s the matter chameleon? Sarah asked. My scanners are picking up like 50 life forms that are coming our way, right now. He said. What?! They all shouted. It must be those masked guys again. Boa said. Aww man, who are they anyway? Ziran asked. I think we’re about to find out. Striker said, seeing an army of shadow warriors coming through chameleon’s front door and his windows. We’re surrounded and out numbered. Sarah said nervously. Yes, by my count 50 to 5. Chameleon said, as he grabbed his best net gun and shot at 5 of them and to his surprise, they cut through the net. No way, that should’ve worked. What are they? He asked. We don’t know and I think we don’t want to find out. Striker said. Less talking and more fighting guys, we don’t want to let our guards down. Ziran said as he fought off a bunch of the shadow monsters.
They all engaged the beasts in a battle that was bigger than their last fight with them. They all did their best, but it seems that it wasn’t enough. They were all injured of tired form all their fights today. That fiend stripes has this all planned out. Something is different about these guys, they’re fighting a lot better then earlier and my magic is hardly hurting them. Boa said, noticing that his lightning bolts weren’t working on the shadow monsters. Striker was the first one they caught, he was too badly injured to fight back. Striker no! Let me go! Sarah screamed as the evil soldiers grabbed her and then they dog piled ziran and boa. Ahh! They both screamed. They even got chameleon with his own cage trap. Let me out of here right now! He yelled in an angry voice. But they wouldn’t respond to him. Bring them to me my children and bring the hunter too. Stripes said and with that, the shadow warriors disappeared with their captives. Although Sarah was struggling very effectively and she was becoming angry, the soldiers held on to her tight. They all reappeared in a castle outside of outpost town, where stripes waits.
To be continued. Next time; chapter 9-escape from stripes castle.
