Their Eyes
I see poetry in their eyes.
They take a hit to ease the pain
But it's all lies,
It'll only drive them insane.
To them it seems so real,
A quick fix to pretend.
I know its the devil's deal
That it will never amend.
There's loss in their souls,
Hearts ripped to pieces.
Each life full of holes
Eagerly awaiting...
the moment it all ceases.
But they don't know:
There's a path they've yet to tread.
I promise you, just go
It won't end in dread.
I see the potential in their gaze.
The truth behind the mask they wear.
Their mind a maze...
The fact they care.
I see the poetry in the their eyes
They will survive.
Don't listen to the lies,
There's truly a reason to be alive.
