Chapter 5: Bloody Pirates!
Winnie, Rebecca and even Rose were bored out of their minds. It's been a week since they visited Madrid and met Alejandro. Winnie sighed, "What do you guys wanna do?" "What can we do?" Rose muttered. "No idea." Rebecca sighed, letting her head drop to the surface of the railing. Suddenly, they heard a sort of angry screech. They whipped in the other direction and saw Grace following a gull that was somehow strong enough to carry a leg of mutton in its bill. "BLOODY CHICKEN!" Grace snarled, shooting at the gull. One bullet caught the poor bird in the wing and it fell to the water, mutton and all. Grace watched it fall with a look of pure panic on her face. She turned to the others and muttered aloud, "...that was our last bit of food." There Grace started to have a panic attack. "...I think that the sea's starting to get to her." Rebecca sighed, a sweatdrop running down her head. Winnie and Rose nodded. Rebecca walked over to Grace and lightly pushed her arm, "Grace, relax." "How can I do that?" Grace stammered. "We. Are. Out. Of. Food!" Rebecca placed her hand on her hip and reassured her, "All we gotta do is make port and steal more food." "WHAT PORT!? THERE IS NO PORT!" Grace screeched, gesturing to the sea, "WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF BLOODY NOWHERE!" Rebecca whacked Grace upside the head to help her calm down. "Calm down, dammit!" Rebecca snarled. Grace took a deep breath and sighed, "Ok."
To emphasize her point, Rebecca pointed behind the ship and said, "If you look out there, you could see some waves starting to form. That means wind. Wind means we can head towards port." Grace nodded and Rebecca turned back towards Grace, "So, calm the hell down." "Alright, I'm calm." Grace sighed. "Good." Elaine said as she walked up towards them. "I could hear you freak from my quarters." Grace laughed sheepishly. "I'm sorry, captain." Elaine just waved it off. "That's fine." she sighed. She cleared her throat and shouted to the crew, "Ladies! Man the mast! Draw sail! We're headed to port!" The crew replied with cheering and multiple "Aye!"s. Alejandro walked up the stairs from the galley just in time to miss being hit by a runaway crewmate. With a smirk, Alejandro tapped Elaine's shoulder, asking, "How can I help, captain?" Elaine turned to him and gave him a coy look. "Nothing yet. I'll find something for you to do." Elaine chuckled. "For now, just stand there and look cute." Alejandro huffed frustratively, but didn't argue back. Slowly but surely, they sailed their way to a random port town near Paris.
"Wow, this town's nice." Winnie giggled, lifting a basket of fruit to her chest. Obviously, this town was much more generous than any other. Each of the crewmates carried a basket of either bread, fruit or meat with them. Grace has relaxed by this time and was chatting with sme other crewmates. Suddenly, Rose noticed something in the distance. "Is that the Gorgon?" she asked aloud. For some reason, the Gorgon wasn't in port. It was being sailed off in the distance, towards a rock formation to the left of the town. Elaine stood there completely dumbstruck, her eyes wide and her jaw dropped. After a few seconds, her expression changed slowly into a P.Oed snarl as she loosened her grip on the basket and let it drop for Alejandro to catch. Elaine pulled her flintlock out of her belt and ran towards the direction her ship was sailing in, shouting at the top of her lungs, "BLOODY PIRATES! COME BACK HERE WITH MY SHIP, DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Realizing that they couldn't hear her, Elaine slowed down, idling to a complete stop. Losing her ship to other pirates really bombed the entire progress they made. Elaine kicked a random stone into the water, cursing and ranting to herself. "Calm down." a young male voice said. Elaine looked to her left and saw a boy that was about Winnie's age with wavy blond hair standing just a few inches from the edge of the road. "They do this everytime a new ship comes in." he said.
The crew caught up with Elaine about now. Winnie eyed this boy curiously. "Whadda you mean?" Elaine asked him. The boy turned to face them, making Winnie's face go pink with blush. To her, this boy was the most handsome one she'd ever seen. His eyes were like sapphires and he had a casual smile that still struck her as cute. Sure, he had a few freckles here and there, but she still liked this boy. He cleared his throat and said, "Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself." He walked up to Elaine and held out his hand. "My name's Pierre." Elaine took his hand and shook it vigorously. "Elaine Chamberlain." Pierre smiled and repeated this handshake with the others. When he got to Winnie, as she shook his hand, he suavely lifted her hand to his mouth and lightly kissed it. Winnie held her hand closely to herself, her face red with blush.
Pierre then cleared his throat again and said, "They're taking your ship to Shipwreck Cove." "Wha-!? And the Gorgon's a new ship!" Elaine snarled to herself. "I can take you there." Pierre added, pointing to a little rowboat in the harbor. "...if you'd like." he added. "I'm getting my ship back." Elaine sneered, rolling up her sleeves, "and there's nothing that anyone can do to stop me." A pause followed, until a smirk formed on Pierre's face. "Good."
