Silence.
It was too silent now without them.
I realized my breathing was still ragged, and the knife still in my hand. It made an echoing metaling noise when it dropped.
Oh dear God. What have I done?
Jean's lifeless body was still strewn on the opposite wall, and now Neroh...
I just took Neroh's life...
"Why Neroh," my voice defied my shock. "Jean was only a mortal...Even if she recited that Silent Prayer...her soul shouldn't have been taken so violently..."
I found it hard to find myself in justice's glory. I avendged Jean's life by taking the one who she loved, and now...
I feel...hurt. I looked down at my own hands, and screamed at the red that tainted my hands. I let out all my held in pain, sorrow, and love in that scream, and found energy to continue.
"Nemoie, come on, let's go," Vincent's voice hushed in my ears.
His arms were already scooping me up into safty, hugging me tightly. I dared to look in those amber eyes, and they looked back at me, full of pity.
He knew my pain. He felt it.
"Let's just go home," he said, his legs already leading out of the cave. The dank air clung to his words.
My eyes scanned the cave once again, remembering the screams and wails that had echoed off the walls.
Those images were too vivid. Jean's tearfilled eyes; Neroh's sadistic smile as his once jade green eyes shone bright red.
I laid my head on Vincent's shoulder, not knowing what my emotion was, nor if it played on my face.
Jean wasn't going to get a proper human buriel, it was traditional to demon code once a mortal swear by that cursed Silent Prayer. Jean was going to stay in that cave, rotting away, feeding the rats and other worldly creatures that will stumble it's way to there.
Neroh. He deserves no honor in his actions. He took this with full intent for that girl's suffering and death, when the code only required a painless death. He shall feed the vultures.
Soft lips pressed against my forehead, and I guessed that Vincent was trying to reassure me everything will be alright.
Can that be so for us two demons? Murder was written all over us now. How could we find a peaceful place called home?
I guess that's what the future wants us to try to figure out and grasp.
*sorry! I can't find the written copy, and so I had to make a wierd summary! >_<*
