Alright, so I get out of school early because of the weather (no matter. Block periods today and I wasn't doing anything in my classes anyway), and I come home and (finally) finish Luigi's Mansion with all gold paintings (highest grade. Trust me, hard to do). Afterwards I got to thinking, since Luigi's Mansion doesn't have a lot of plot, per se. Though the plot is there, there aren't many 'real' cutscenes in which it occurs, and it never really unfolds. While there is a lot of story to it, it's basically the same concept of catching ghosts. No betrayl or major plot twists (unless you count Mario as a painting, which actually was a really good idea). About halfway through the second area you have most of the story. By the time you get through the beginning of the third area, you have just about all of it. The reason the game is like this? It likes to focus on the originality and story of each individual ghost with finding Mario as the 'driving force' with not much affect on the 'actual' story. I guess waht I'm trying to say is that the game is more about the originality andghosts than finding Luigi's brother.
That said, allow me to delve into detail about one more thing before I push to the point. The game is good. I mean REALLY good. What few cutscenes in it are humorous and yet just the right type of dramatic at the same time. The ending scene where Mario is saved is particualrly good. MArio is sent backwards through the ghost portrificationizer to be turned from a painting back into himself, eventually being shoved through a small hole meant only for ghosts that have been sucked into the Poltergust 3000. Mario lands, stars circling his head with his head still through the vent, and Luigi begins laughing, partially from the humor of the situation, but mostly from the fact that's it's all finally over and things a back to normal. The music for the credits is some of the most fulfilling I've ever heard.
Anyway, as I was saying, the main point. How cool would it be to take all of the non-talkingness of the game and turn it into a story. There would be so much leeway, and you could add almost any conversation you liked. This is actually a weird idea for me as I've tried writing fan fics before and they've not been all that great (I'm much better off writing about my own characters) but Luigig's Mansion has just the right kind of emotion, and leeway I might be able to do it.
Anyway, I've said way too much and probably bored the non-existent people out there who aren't reading this anyway. Sorry ^^;
Project: Luigi's Mansion shall always hold a place of honor with Golden Sun, Paper Mario, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine and the like.
Talon: SOMEONE MAKE THEM STOP TALKING ABOUT VIDEOGAMES!
Sheera: They actually are a viable source of harvesting knowledge.
Talon: There. Right there. Sheera is a living example of why you should not play videogames. Then you start using THOSE words and no one can understand you anymore!

Grame: This is something you should come to expect from Neko.
Yea.
Jamire: Besides, we can always copy him but instead, we make fun of the games he likes.
Hmmmm......sounds evil.
Grame: Which is why I'm going to do it.
You can't even write your own journal.
Grame: Who says I'm going to write it. *pats Plasma Cannon*
Oh, boy....
P.S. How did you like to "Funny Stuff" I gave you Neko?
