((Just watched Disney, I'm in THAT mood)Oh and I've got Kristan Andresian in my head)
Once upon a dream
He was handsome, and sweet. And as our hands met, it was like angels snag. We twirled at swung. We danced under the pale moonlight, with no music. His suit fit him perfect, god did he look beautiful. And he leaned down to kiss me. The only sound I could hear was the pounding of my heartbeat. It sounded like my heart was the door, and he was knocking to come in. Actually, that sounds a lot like a door...
(Knock knock, not the knockin' at your door- but your push pull pulse poundin' our for more. Knock knock don't even ask who's there, you know who it is, yeah, you know you've been there)
"Oh, Imogene, wake up! It's nearly eleven!" F-Floura? What are you doing here? I sat up and rubbed my eyes. What am I doing here? This is my bedroom, not the moonlight lake, where's my prince? Where's my fairy tale?
I threw on my robe and walked to the door,"Floura, what have I told you about waking me in the morning?" I asked through the door. Floura was on the other side, I never let anyone in my room. I had my hand on my key. It was always in my door, I lock myself in every time I enter my room. The key is two of a kind, but a long time ago, at the river I lost it's sister. That was back before I knew it was brass, back when I thought that I owned two keys of solid gold.
"Miss Thipi, I would have never woken you, but you have a visitor," Floura said.
I rushed to get ready,"Who is it?" I called from my closet.
She paused"It's the blacksmith's boy, he says he has your key," Floura said finally.
I laughed and buttoned the last of my dress, I quickly clipped back my hair and left my room. I was notorious for getting dressed quickly. I hurried downstairs to retrieve my key.
Damion stood in the parlor, soot on his face, he looked very out of place in my opulent house. "Miss Thipi," He said.
I looked him over, he looked like a blacksmith's boy," Yes," I said.
"Well, for three years now I've been trying to find the home of this key, does it-by any chance-belong to you?" He held it out. Rusted, and a little scorched, but it looked totally identical to my own.
"How much do you want for it?" I asked.
His eyes grew and he shook his head,"I couldn't possibly. This key is yours so why should I take money of yours from it!" Good answer.
"Very well," I said. "Thank you very much," I began to be troubled. "You may leave now," He bowed and walked out of my house.
"Floura!" I called. The stout woman hurried downstairs.
"Yes, Imogene?" She asked flustered.
I looked at the key,"What was that story my mother used to tell be about the key,"
Flora rushed be into the other room. My mother was a gypsy, we never mentioned her inside the house. When I was little my father, a wealthy bank man, would let me go and visit her in secret. Because I wasn't supposed to be born. Everyone in the kingdom thinks that I am the daughter of a Duchess from an exotic land. Anyway my mother would tell me the story of my keys.
"Oh dear. Imogene, I can't remember that, it's so old! From so long ago!" She said.
I smiled at the keys,"You remember," I said,"Please tell it to me,"
She grumbled then sighed,"Yes, dear. Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess and her twin. They each had keys to their room-your room. One day the twins decided to cast their keys out of their window then waited for prince charming to appear. Sure enough the beautiful princess had a visitor soon. He had her key in hand, they got married straight away. Nobody knows what came of the twin, but they say that her key," She tapped the dirty one in my hand,"Still has the powers of love, and magic inside of it,"
I laughed behind tears,"Floura, I don't want to love a blacksmith boy!" I ran into her arms.
She smoothed out my hair and rocked me back and forth,"Darling, you don't have to love someone you don't want to. Maybe he was just delivering the key for prince charming."
