We're learning about the heart in biology and today we dissected a heart. First mr. robson gave an example of what we should do, and when he peeled the fat off it sounded like masking tape e-e
Then it was our turn, luckily we could work in pairs so ellie mauled the heart in her bare hands whilst I poked it tentatively with my gloved hands, getting used to the idea of interacting with meat.
Eventually I put my finger through a vessel and into a ventricle C: It was really cold because it hadn't properly defrosted yet. I am proud of myself.
Our heart was really bloody, most people had a few clots and red smears on their trays. But our heart was dripping with blood. And there were loads of clots inside. ellie looked like she'd murdered someone with her bare hands by the end of it XD
In other news: I was in headingley this evening, trying to cross st anne's road at the lights. All the cars were kind of.....meandering about and inching forwards. then I noticed that all the lights were out :O Crashes are common there when the lights are working, let alone without them. The street lamps and christmas lights were out too.
I got a book with a picture of a bowler hat and "ceci est un"....."chapeau" possibly? in the style of Magritte. Then below, it says: the man who mistook his wife for a hat" or something along those lines XD Anyway. It has case studies of mad people, I think.
