You built me up
When they brought me down.
You made me smile
When I only wanted to frown.
You've changed my life
One hug at a time
And I just wanted to tell you
I'm so happy that you're mine.
My world was corrupted
Until you came around
I felt only pain,
Sorrow, the only sound.
I was broken and torn,
Alone in the dark,
Love abandoned me.
It cut me deep,
It left its mark.
Since that day you found me
I don't have to hide.
I've got other things to do,
Other places to confide.
I've no need for these emotional rhymes.
These words can be knives, can be shanks
So I guess what I'm trying to say
Is simply thanks.
Thanks for building me up,
For changing my life,
For cleansing my world,
For ending the strife.
