hi, i'm (enter name here) and i'm a pretty big band nerd. (not band geek, there's a difference believe me) basically, band rules my life. most of the wonderful super fantastic friends i have are in band, so i owe the music department a lot of gratitude and respect. so yes, in turn, i came to love the band. i don't regret it, not for a moment. once you turn into a major band nerd like i, you learn to love all the terrible triplet sixtenth note paterns it throws at you (and if you know what that is then we're on the same boat) last night was a jazz band concert (and to those who know me personally you know why i loved it) but i played. and rocked it. it was a charity concert, and this guy (you may know him) named Dennis Rowland was there. he's pretty darn good too. so, at the end of his two hour long preformance, he called up the high schoolers (me included) onstage to play with him. those brave enough did. i was one of those brave hearts. so, we played some rifts (same pattern periodically) during his song and then he called us up to improv. if your not in jazz band or theater, you don't really know what this is. lemme explain. basically, its making something out on the spot. you may do this with your parents if you get into trouble or something, but in jazz band, you'll notice that it is different. continue next journal
