My heart’s been shattered again
I feel empty inside
I miss him again
I’m celebrating and rejoicing
All the while my heart is breaking
My world is shaking
Tell me You’ll never leave me
Although I’m believing the same lies.

As these tears fall
You hold me still
And You whisper ever so gently to me
“It’s been a long time since I’ve held you this close”
You delight in holding me in my sorrow
A light in my darkness shining through
It’s been awhile since I’ve felt this broken
But still You only hold me close
And You tell me that I’m beautiful
And You love me
There is no condemnation only love.

I can’t explain I just need Your healing
To know that You’re strong enough
And You’ll never let me go
No matter what storms come my way
That this is just a season
And it too has a reason
Where Your grace shines brighter and brighter still.

I’m looking into Your eyes
And peace is found
You don’t need to speak
I don’t need the answers
I just need to know You’ll hold me

I don’t even want to be strong
I just want to be Your child
