why does love hurt us so
why is it something we cant let go
why do we chase things that hurt
even after we hit the dirt
when will we learn that love isnt fair
love doesnt care who becomes a pair
i beleive love ends in pain
to shed tears for such things is in nothing but vain
love is painful
love is cruel
so why do we let it rule
sure its great while it lasts
but it always becomes a part of the past
im young so i may not understand
but love isnt a big part in my band
some say love is the string of life
but others say it only helps grip the knife
help me learn to love
help me understand
why we get through life
always hand in hand
a word to the wise
when the fire dies
what happens to the pair
do they stay that way
or do they part in the still air
anyone who can change my heart
truly knows love from the start
and to those who understand it so true
i must say i truly envy you
its hard to understand such a trivial thing
if you understand love, please lend me a wing
for if you do you must be an angel sent from above
because only gods and goddesses truly understand love
so angel of mine please shine on me
flap your wings and set me free
put me at ease
ease thats free of this disease
the disease called ignorance that some call bliss
i can be free from it all
