She woke up that morning like any other morning before, but this morning was different. Tears filled her eyes as the scene from the night before flashing in front of her. At that time she could still only barely understand what had happened, and when the reality finally began to sink in her body shot up out of her bed. She bolted to his room and opened the door, finding it empty. Everything was the way he had left it except one thing was missing, him. She turned slowly and started back to her room, knowing now that it wasn’t a dream, he really was gone. The tears gently rolled down her cheeks, and as she went to wipe them away she turned back and stared for a long moment at her parents’ bedroom door. Wondering how they would go on after losing another child, their only son. She bit her lip as tears again started down her cheeks. She knew the world was about to fall apart, and she needed to stay strong.
