Chronicle of the Lost Thought:
Moonflower Epilogue
Moonflower Epilogue
If only it would not end away. If it would not end... if only it would not. . .
End
The moonflower is one of those fleeting treasures each man would wish he had forever, as all other fleeting treasures in our world. In the middle of the night, the barrier between yesterday and today - today and tomorrow, it opens it's bloom, giving away the regal aura of it's fragrance.
To the air around it - which, like a hungry beggar, drinks it all up until none was left. Once the moment was - and yet the moment wasn't in a minute's waste.
The wonder ends that quick. He that found the moonflower had his life pass through him. One in a hundred million. Whether he was prepared or not.
DeVars had found it too. Though a little too late. With just a glance to the blossoming girl he had left the bloom out. And after he remembers about it, all was left was a withered stalk. The scent had all vanished. Nothing but a wilted ordinary flower on an ordinary vacant lot.
So was the girl. It may have been the moonflower that changed her to what she really wants to become. A perfect being. A wish come true. Something to reach out for.
'Missed . . . me?', the girl asked again, her face looking up to my face. A little teary-eyed. Fear. Fear of disappointed. Rejection.
Instead of a response, I closed my eyes and hugged her tight. The question drowned through the sudden touch, a welling of feelings both shared and not. Who was I to judge? There wasn't an I in the first place.
The night looms once again as the cold breeze enters my feeling. We were alone that night. . . you and 'I'.
"I do. . ."
". . . Welcome home!"
". . . Welcome home!"
