The matter of the dark tool was pushed aside for almost a year. Mayo had lingered over other things she soon began to enjoy, like singing...she knew she was no prodigy. But Ben had caught her listening to a radio and following along with the words. She was growing more and more skilled at fighting her Master. In fact whenever it was dusk, the other 3 men would come and watch making bets on who would win. There was no more running from the AP, the full moon nights passed with no kitsune appearing in the woods, there was little to complain or worry about. They were sitting in the woods on a winter night all around a fire. Alestar was watching Mayo reading a book, one arm behind her head as she leaned at the foot of a tree in the middle of the snow in not even a cloak. If there was one peculiar thing, the cold never bugged her. Black was the farthest away from the light of the fire with his arms folded across his chest and his head bowed but he was far from asleep one would have to have the eyes of Alestar's hawk to see that every once in a while Black would give a small shiver from the cold. Abraham looked at Mayo and spoke, "Why don't you sing that song you like?" Black raised his head and saw Mayo's reaction of surprise, "Sing? Me?....No there's no need to..." Abraham gave a smile, "Aw come on...what's wrong with a little tune, it's a quiet night we need something to stir us from freezing over like your Master back there." Mayo shook her head, "I don't sing, I never had....." They all exchanged smirking looks and then resumed to the fire that night without another pester of it. Black saw Mayo hadn't turned the page in her book for at least an hour and realised she was humming a song and then listened to it as the night waned away in its frigid peace.
