Dear God I am ill
And I soon will dye
I’ve seen breaking hearts
And i've watched people cry

Mama is sad now
And speaks not a word
She sits by my bed
Like a nested bluebird

Daddy and brother
Just sit by her side
They try to be strong
But the pains hard to hide

Just this morning
I heard sister say
When can bubby go home?
I want him to play

All I can do
Is lay here and wait
Tell me dear god
Why my hearings so faint

I am so weak
And I can no longer see
My hands feel so numb
And I can’t feel my feet

I lay here just waiting
To walk through that door
Wising I could tell mama
Please don’t cry anymore

I know i'm gong
To a much better place
Where I can sit on gods lap
And look at his face

I will feel no more pain
And ill fly on white wings
I will live in a place
Where I can hear angels sing

Dear god it’s now dark
And breathe one last sigh
I take the angels hand
And I whisper goodbye
