Purposely Downvoting?
I just don't understand some of you people.
I can be having a very good day and have a grasp on what most people have running through their minds even without speaking. It's all very evident in people's past actions and their body language.
But that doesn't apply all that much to experiences on the internet. Sure you can do a small background check on their past posts to have an idea what kind of person they are, but most of the time it's unpredictable.
I tend to frequent the Arenas, both Art and Avatar. I have submitted about 8 pieces into the Art Arena and usually get some good response and helpful critiques, plus some kind votes that leave my images with an average of around 7 or 8 out of ten.
But there's always one or two people who just go and ruin your day. They leave a stupid comment that has nothing to do with anything and give you a 1/10. Their stupid comments are usually already pointed out in the description that they always forget to read. That is something that just really irritates me. Do you think that if I make all my descriptions in CAPITAL LETTERS AND BOLDED that they might actually notice it and read through it before going off an making a fool of themselves by repeating something that the artist is already aware of? I highly doubt it.
There's another thing that I'd like to touch base on that relates greatly to the Arenas. That would be purposely downvoting. I just don't get it. Just because a certain art style doesn't suit your fancy don't give them a 1/10. you could still just sit back and look into the picture and guestimate how long it may have taken that certain individual to complete that picture. But they don't do that; they just look at it, find one tiny error and give it a 1/10.
This goes for the Avatar Arena as well. I've seen so many beautiful avatars that I like, so I give them a 9 or 10 and a comment. But as I scroll through some of the past comments I usually see things like, "You should have saved that 1k for a new outfit." or "This has been done before. Be original." And with those comments comes a rain of 1s and 2s out of ten, even though they don't deserve them. Things like that just tick me off and make me not want to enter the Avatar Arena. Sure, it's just 1k and that can be gained back in a few hours, but the eternal dissing and stabbing of those who don't like your look would damage me. I'm a sensitive person. I take things personally even though I try not to... I just can't help it.
I guess you can't predict the way things turn out. It's irritating and difficult to conform to your audience. Just because I say or do something obscure or out of the norm, I am labelled as a "loser" or "freak" but whatever happened to individuality?
I say dare to be different.
