Approximately one year ago, my level 3 Grombie status was achieved. That is a huge milestone for me. I don't think I've kept an item permanently on me for a year. Ever. Not even a hairstyle. I've had a few items for my entire almost-two-years on Gaia that I'll probably never sell unless I get desperate, but even then, it'll be difficult. Either way, I'm still proud to be a Grombie. I'm glad that I stayed up some of those late nights to catch a few rabid grunnies in the event forum. I really wish that I knew who it was that stayed with me a bumped with me to the wee hours of the day so that I could reach my level 3 status. I really wish I knew who she was. I can still remember when I first posted and caught over 175 Grunnies. Oh how those red zombified eyes stared back at me through my monitor. I loved it. After finally achieving level 3 status and seeing a few level 4s and a scarce number of level 5s, I thought to myself, "Perhaps I should stay as a level 3. I don't really care for the look of level 4s and 5s." So myself and many others stayed at the level 3 Grombie status. Over the months though, the Grombie population started dropping. I think that since so many Grombies decided to return to human state, perhaps that is what made me want to keep my Grombie-ness. Just so that I can say, "I've lasted this long, let's see what you can do to change me back. I'm not going to change back voluntarily. It doesn't matter how much you offer to pay me, this skin to me is priceless."

And that is what it is to me exactly. Priceless. Yesterday there was a thread in the GCD asking, "Would you rather have Grombie status or Mini Nitemare Wings?" Grombie status for sure. Technically, becoming a Grombie is more rare than Mini Nitemare Wings. The wings aren't as rare because they're a monthly donation item, whereas Grombie status could only be achieved during the 5-7 days of the Halloween 2K5 Event. Plus, to gain Grombie status you had to work for it; bump like crazy. To get Mini Wings, you just had to donate $2.50 to Gaia way back.

So yes. I am a proud Grombie of one year. And I wish for many more.
