Hey. Sup' net. I don't really type in my journals but I think I just want to let you guys know what I'm up to lately since a couple of cool things happened and just really hectic which is quite troublesome like being ditched twice by my cool friends. Guess they didn't consider me as a cool person. Lol its okay though I still had fun being with myself and I will see them again (I hope).
I have to say that it has been a long weekend and just a long month so far. I haven't really been here as much but don't worry I'm almost back to track for my commissions and I do have draw some freebies that I promised as well (:
Hmm... last Saturday, I went shopping to the city since we spotted that they had a flea market on the newspaper! I was reluctant to go since I had to wake up 9am which is quite early if you ask me and I'm usually a 11am person who wakes up. Anyways so we went and took a look around. We arrived there at 11am anyways and it was really cool. I wish I took some pictures at the market. I did buy a few nifty things like a water bottle container and it's really cute and also a nice bag to go as a tourist and cute mini items. I don't feel like explaining as much since I really don't remember what I bought. It was a nice community since the people there selling were nice and everything were really cheap practically everything for $1. I think that would be my first time actually participating in a flea market. I think I want to go to more now since that seems pretty cool. Nice people, vintage items, and really nice prices. If you do have a local flea market running near you, then go during your free time. I think it would be fun rummaging through items to see something you'll like and since they offer vast types of things that you may or might not like. You may think that flea markets are really for people who can't afford things but that's totally not true. I personally found it fun since they sold unopened items and hand made things. There were some used but clean plates and they were just gorgeous. Sometimes you can just find amazing things that may never be sold in stores whether it be a brand name store or online site. Also you can buy some items at the flea market and sell it online to make profit (which I find lucrative but it's a way to make a living at times). Anyways I think I will attend flea markets once in a blue moon whenever I'm free and they only strike once in awhile (:
The rest of the weekend I watched a play and wandered through a flower show and ate a restaurant and went to a concert. Quite a productive weekend if you ask me. It really was fun however, I don't wish to have this kind of lifestyle every weekend. I arrived home late and also there were too many things to do for two days! So many things to do but so little time. That's why you have to live your life to the fullest. I know it's a bit too cliche, but its the truth. Although bad times do come through it doesn't mean it will last forever. Just keep that in mind.
Right now I'm reading a book called Invisible Thread by Laura Schroff. Yes, I know, its amazing that I picked up a book by myself consciously. It's a really great book since its touching and so emotional and a true story as well. I will tell you a preview of it. So basically, this took place in the 1980's and it's about a young successful business ad women whose walking down the streets of Manhattan until a 11yr old boy (who went through so much of a harsh life) came upon her and asked for a spare change. She walked right past him but after a few couple of steps she stopped and turned around and went back to him to take him to lunch. She doesn't know why she did it but after a mere lunch at McDonald's with the boy, they soon became best friends and changed their lives forever (don't worry it's positively). There were ups and downs but still had each other's backs no matter what. I only read this book whenever I'm at the bus or train or have free time during school since I find it absolutely wasteful to do nothing when I'm at the bus just sitting and staring at the window. So not productive, just saying.
Oh yea, that reminds me. I remember one day during early February, after I picked up my things from school I ran into a guy who was sitting at a busy city street with two dogs. This street is where all the bus and trains stops so people are able to switch and also it has shopping areas too. I remember he had a sign that said "Hungry ... anything will help. God Bless You". I didn't think too hard on it because it's simple. You don't need to give him money or simply walk by but rather just give him healthy food. That is what I did. I went to a supermarket next to him and got a pound of banana for the dogs which was $1.00 and then walked across the street to McDonald's and got the man 2 hamburgers which is probably 2.50 in total. I approached him and handed him 2 bags and stated that the bananas are for his dogs and the hamburgers are for him. The only thing I regret is that I should have gotten him a healthier food rather than hamburgers maybe sandwiches. He beamed and smiled saying, "Thank you". I felt happy that he was able to eat and omg, this is really sad to me but the dogs looked like they were happy too. When I extended my arms with the bag of bananas, the dogs were really looking at them and with sad slumped positions they were hoping it would be for them. I walked away after handing them the food because I didn't know how to react with his beaming face. After that, I never saw him again. I hope he's happy with his two dogs and making a wonderful living now.
That was quite long but I do not apologize for sharing my long story. I hope that you guys will do the same. It's good to help once in awhile, you have this good feeling in the inside and sometimes using money to help people doesn't really count but what really matters is the happiness that he/she will have just for the concern and care that you shower over him/her. It's up to you if you want to make someone smile (: This world does seem cold but we can add a ray of warmness by simply helping each other out.
Okay, anyways moving on since it's too emotional and quite philosophical. Man, I wish I could type so more and also since I don't see myself posting a journal until summer (a new chapter begins) and I'm quite sure a lot will happen before the summer and after the summer! However, I have school tomorrow and quite early so I shall take my leave. I hope the weather becomes warmer so I can dress in easy going clothes and also go out with my friends and hang out with them more often! I haven't found myself a job yet but I don't think I can for now since I think I'm too busy. I overestimated myself, thinking that I can balance my school life and work at the same time. How foolish of me to think like that. Well in the end, we all have to work whether we like it or not.
