New Justice: The New Law For A Post-Vicis World (an Excerpt) |

The city of Hexe exists as an incredible specimen of the post-Vicis nature of crime and law on a macroscopic scale. Fifteen years after the rebirth of Hexe, the Police Headquarters was destroyed in a fiery explosion whose origins are still unknown. The specific losses are still unclear but the newly-appointed Police Commissioner was meeting with his Captains and several Lieutenants that evening. The carnage that ensued was citywide; riots, looting, vandalism and street violence. As this state of anarchy continued into several days, it became clear that no outside assistance would be offered and a group of influential citizens began assembling a vigilante militia who responded in kind to the violent lawbreakers plaguing the city. The remaining police force, busy protecting the city’s essential assets, were unable to curb the efforts of the illegal but effective vigilante force. Then Governer Kindle Nurem eventually met with the leaders of the unnamed group and, in spite of his advisor’s protests, sanctioned their proposed curfew enforcement and detainment procedures. The group now had a name; Purge.
In the following weeks, Purge agents became a force on the streets to be reckoned with; their distinctive forest green armbands told any would-be criminal that they were not safe. Purge believed that the city’s condition could only be reckoned with an equal show of force; street justice implemented by the very people subject to the damage that the slowing anarchy was costing the city.
Even more intimidating was Lithium; miles above the city, summoned into existence anonymously, was a massive diamond prison, gray and looming.

King of Losers makes his grandly tedious return!
I've stayed away for quite some time because I've been deluding myself into believing that I have better things to do.
I'm still laboring under that illusion, but I've compromised it enough to make a very slight, likely short-lived return to Gaia. There are people on here I never though I'd see on here, and I'm going to see if I can't get them to RP with me. About what yet, I don't know...
I'm also kind of thinking about customizing my character a little more. Blah. I'd rather waste my time on PSU or FFXI than Gaia, but whatevah.

And Nymh is t3h filthee richness!
He finally got to sell all those great fish he caught! Got somewhere around 600g. Amazing! Nymh looks so pimp now!
Lucky b*****d.
Well, I should probably talk about how exciting my Thanksgiving was.
Honestly, it was the same Thanksgiving I go to every year, chock full of wierd distant relatives and food, both good and nasty. It's nice to see certain relatives again, but I'd rather Thankgiving was more like Christmas: just a few of my closest relatives hanging out and chatting. That way, I know everybody's name, and I don't feel uncomfortable.
Of course, I imagine I'm not the only one who has to suffer that, so who am I to complain?
I strongly recommend everyone check out DJ Dieselboy's new record, The Dungeonmaster's Guide. Really, really good music for both dancing and moshing, whichever you prefer. Plus, D-Boy is just awesome like that!
Talk to you later!

I have no title, because I'm not listening to anything right now. I'm in a hurry, this is a quick journal post. I did, however, buy the "Lifted" CD by Bright Eyes, and I've been listening to it. Very good.
I've been saving up for a MEHtro sports jacket, but I didn't have enough, and my little brother, who is apparently extremely good at fishing, offered to get me enough by fishing. He had two buckets full of fish from Durem, and only two pieces of trash, but got a fishing error. Grrrrr... So, as a result, I still do not have my shirt.
Oh well. Suppose I'll have to stare at my own naked torso for a while Woe is me.
Thanksgiving was good. Again, it's awfully awkward to go see my whole family, because I don't know many of them, and many of them I don't know scare me.
Edan left for school again today. He'll be in Chicago for another two weeks, then Christmas break starts. That's going to be awesome. I can't wait. I just want classes to be done with. Give me a week to study for finals, then let me take it and get it over with.
I have an RP strand in the Barton Town forum, if anyone's interested in joining an RP band thing. I doubt anyone will join, and I hate harassing Edan and Nymh, but they're the only one's willing to post.
Gotta go.

Well, another day, another journal entry.
Working like mad in RL, Thanksgiving rush at work. Off of school for the rest of the week, but still gotta work. No big deal. Speaking in sentence fragments. Getting annoying.
And Edan got a pink box containing a Viking Helmet. Not anything big, it would seem, but it sure looks snazzy on him. His viking name is Edan the Blue-balled. Heh. I'm sick.
Donated to the Yaoi Guild, and felt good about it. Wonder if anyone will notice?
I've got so many things to do it's ridiculous.
So, I'll catch you all later.

Hey, got my new duds.
I had been planning on selling my EoE at the Xchange for cheap, cause I needed money. I made the mistake of starting my sell price at half the store price, because I assumed nobody would buy.
Immediately, somebody bit. I told my friend Sour, and she asked me how much the bid was. I told her, and she freaked. When she found out what I had asked for, she politely informed me that I was a moron. She then pointed me in the way of the store, who apparently will buy your stuff from you, no hassle.
So, I took the money and grabbed some garb. Nice, eh?
My older brother Aden and my younger brother Nymh are both online, and i'm going to see if I can't get some shizzle together, we can work on stuff. Whatever. It'll be nice to work together with them again, if at least somewhat casually.
I haven't quite gotten into this fishing thing. Of course, I haven't actually tried it yet, but I've watched, and it looks incredibly boring. Yeah. I'd rather just hang around the forums, thanks.
Watched the movie Se7en for the first time. Damn good movie. Too bitter and cynical for my tastes, but still a damn good movie.
WTF?! My monitor just did this insane wobbly thing! Maybe it's the Aphex Twin I'm listening to? Sure.
All I need for my character now is some longer hair and some cat ears, and I'll be happy. For a while.

What the hell? Look at my avatar. I found a pink present box, and I got the Ears of Wisdom. *laughs* Good stuff. I look like some sort of mutant.
Whatever. You take what you can get, right?
LOL. Ears of Wisdom. Someone out there has a sense of humor.
Anyway, sent a message to a moderator, asking about an idea of mine. I want to start a real-time role play band here on Gaia Online. The idea is that I recruit a group of musicians and we go around Gaia playing for money, getting better as we play. I also want to incorporate some actual music into the mix, lending the band a relevance to the game that other players can appreciate. I hope the idea doesn't seem too crazy.
I'm really enjoying Gaia Online, I dig the place. I just wish it wasn't so bandwidth heavy, so I could access it at home. Oh well. I can still post journal entries, at least.
Need to go add some cool people to my memberlist. Good bye.
