So I'm bored at 3:30 AM, and I just remembered an incident worth rambling about. A few weeks ago, my mom and I went to recycle plastic bottles at the recycling shack/center thing, and there was this white lady picking a fight with an asian lady. It quickly escalated into some racial name calling, etc etc, and the white lady said she'd call the cops and she drove off.
Then this other white lady that was recycling (damn b***h took forever) started yelling at the asian lady too, you know, about the usual stuff. Such as "Go back to your own country," blah blah blah. Some Americans are sure stupid; that's all I can say. I hate racist people, but stupid people I also can't stand. But, the asian lady told her (more like yelled) that the native americans are the true natives. Then the white lady said something like "Oh yeah, well my son is in the army." This I really can't understand. Well, somewhat I guess.. It shows... that they're patriotic? Sadly, hardly anyone really goes into the army as a first choice. I'm sure he would much rather be earning a few thousands of dollars a month. The asian lady was like, "..... so? My daughter's a lawyer." And she definitely implied that the lady's son was dumb and couldn't do anything productive but go into the military. Just shows different ways of thinking. I hate sugarcoating things; I like things straightforward and well defined.
I also came across this article on yahoo finance about the worst paying college majors. Of course, this included Art, Education, Social work, and more. People were commenting saying stuff like, "All the stuff that matters get no pay" and "I do it for the joy and not for the money" and "if teachers get paid more, there would be less crappy teachers." This doesn't make sense to me; If teachers really love their jobs and don't care for their money, there would be a lot less dumb teachers. And what most people fail to realize is that it's true that these majors are important, but they are less in demand compared to things like science, law, etc. There was even this one person who complained that art majors saved lives too, why are they paid less than doctors? I really don't get delusional and stupid people... but a doctor's job is to save lives and such. An artist's job is to create art. I guess I'm just a realistic person. And to be realistic, all of those majors are majors that people who fail at science get go into. You fail at biochemistry? Be a teacher! Yup.
Oh, I also had this terrible, stupid teacher who loved seeing his students fail, but that is for another time.
