I ******** hate April Fool's Day.

With a passion.

It's a holiday where people think it's okay to pull some of the stupidest, sometimes cruel s**t on people, and then act like it's okay, because it's an 'April Fool'. Now, with the advent of the internet and such, it's even harder to tell, sometimes, what's fake and what's not. And even without it, April Fool's has always been more about what's emotionally damaging than anything else.

I don't like being tricked. In fact, I take offense to it. I don't find it joyful, or 'just a joke'. If you do that to me, I take it personally. I don't care who you are, how close to me you are, or even if you know me at all. If you pull that sort of s**t with me, I am not going to be very nice to you for a long, long time.

I would go into more detail here, but a lot of things are too personal; the tl;dr version is that I had things done to me in the past, in real life, on April Fool's that really hurt me, and as an extension of that I just do not appreciate the holiday at all (and I use the term "holiday" loosely).

Maybe I'm taking things too seriously (not that I care), but that's my $0.02 on why I hate April Fool's Day.

Any of you who know me know that I think slave RPs are the festering crap-pile of the RP world. I know they're allowed on Gaia, sadly, but the concept is still... crap. For lack of I can't say the proper term: sh*tpile.

On a caffeine high and just a sheer feeling of 'ENOUGH', yes, I stooped and called a random slave thread 'the cancer that's killing Gaia'.

Do I regret it? Hell no. Not only was it true, it led to the most hilarious conversation I've ever had on AIM. Period. It was worth it.

And to the moron thread-starter(who is remaining nameless to protect the stupid)? I'm not 16. I'm 23. And the way you typed? There's no freaking way you're 23, because I know mentally challenged 12 year olds who type better than you. And that's saying something. SPELL CHECK IS NOT A CRUTCH. LEARN TO SPELL.

That being said... I probably won't do it again, and tune out the slave threads, as I tend to do. But someday, when no one expects it... they will all be purged off this site, and you can be damn sure I had something to do with it.

Ok, is it just me, or is everyone starting to realize just how much the Holiday items suck? take Easter, most recent exaple. You work hard, you wait, and you search for easter eggs... you find all you need and turn them in, and what do you get?

New edition of slippers? No!
Some sort of plushie? NO!

You get a paper cut out mask that brings you back to like, kindergarten. I mean, come on, it doesn't get much more pathetic than that. I think gaia needs an imagineerng team to like, decide the items for these, because it's getting pretty sad. I fear for this year's Halloween event...

Here's a better idea: ask the Gaians what they want! Do a survey! I mean, am I the only one who thought of Black Bunny slippers for Easter?! Gah...

Don't get me wrong: I love Gaia, that's why I'm here. But the event items are grating my last nerve.

Isn't the Halloween event *fun*? Heh. Yeah, I'm so glad my skool has cable or whatnot, because speed is soooo sloooow otherwise. XD

I hate the 20 minute wait... *veg out* Bleh.

Wow, Gaia has journals now... Well, I'm Karura. *wave* I'm known as the duck elf, the coon elf, the duck-coon elf, the ninjitsu elf... Ehm, anyway. If you've hung around Barton Town or The Gaia Exchange, chances are you've seen me, since those are my two main haunts.

My home computer is going through some crap right now, so forgive me if this Journal seems scant (I'm at school right now). However, once it is fixed, I'll be hanging around as much as I ever did. ^_^ Thanks a lot for reading.
