His body fell to the floor, lifeless and without grace. Without it, his head, severed and rolling in the opposite direction.
Everyone stood silently for a moment, gazing upon the scene and taking it in. Though Marco was weak, his death was unexpected. Gin and Eden stood huddled together, both resisting the urge to cry at the scene. Even though they didn't know him, even though their relationship started off rough, they knew he didn't deserve this.
The hunter's gathered their things, not attentive to the kids. They were of no importance, their deed had been done. Though just before they could leave, a large smoke clouded the room.
His head rolled back to his body, losing it's flesh leaving the bare skull, ashy and cracked. His body rose from the ground, elegantly and effortlessly, standing there before the hunters, peering at them through the thin window of smoke.
"Marco Bacia," a voice echoed, "Today you are held on the charges of the rape and murder of wife Eleanora Bacia. These actions are punishable by death, and by decision of the jury you will be put to death by hanging".
Before they could react, his hand was around the neck of the first hunter.
"Prayer, prayer, prayer" he repeated, "faith is something I gave up in that moment. Faith is what let a guilty man go free. I watched him as I felt my neck snap. I watched the man I love smile as I die, and in that moment I knew exactly who committed the crime. But for him, I took the punishment. In the back of my head, I didn't want it to be true. But who can change things when..."
He snapped the first man's neck, letting his body drop to the floor.
He approached the other man, continuing his story.
"I cursed that man on my death. And when I awoke, I was a new man. My vengence ruled me."
He placed one hand on the man's shoulder, the other grabbing his head. He pulled as hard as he could, ripping it with no trouble. He lifted it above his head, the blood dripping down in a pool of scarlet.
Marco drank.
"Snap snap snap". He laughed, "I murdered them all. All those who put me to death"
