Gabriel of the forest decided to come out of the forest absorb the suns rays into energy. After a short walk he had arrived into an open field of green poppies, the rarest of flowers. "Hmm? Green Poppies in a place like this... outside the colosseum..." he thought for a few seconds. "Surprising..."
He walked a few feet into the field of flowers and realized that this was a field of no ordinance. The flowers there were special. He could feel the flowers sending energy into his body. These green poppies are connected to his race. Gabriel knew this because he had seen them before. After a few seconds of silent communication with the flowers he had shyly lad himself on the flower bed. It was quite a sight. The poppies began to glow. The flowers tickled his face with ease and the wind had blown through them with such a faint melody. Gabriel loved this feeling.. it reminded him of his childhood. He ran through the fields of Green poppies outside his home village. He had missed this feeling.
Gabriel then planted his roots into ground to better "speak" with the flowers. He lye there quietly by himself wondering, "I have yet to make a friend who shares this connection with these poppies since my village was destroyed."
After a few moments of there was a rustling in the flowers. "Who comes near!?" he shouted.
:Raven was unsure if she should continue to approach this new creature. She froze crouched in the flowers. She just wanted to explore it more. But She was sure that this new creature could see her in broad daylight in the middle of a field. She squinted and realized that this being had features much like hers. Roots for feet? She hadn't seen anything that resembled her. Not even the plants she cared for or planted. This one walked upright.
Raven had heard what he said. His words rang in her head. It had been so long since she meet anyone like her.
She shuttered at the boom in his voice when her questioned her presence. It startled her so much she leaped up in clear view. She held her breath and embarrassment pierced her cheeks:
"uh... umm... "
"I didn't mean to scare you..." His voice talked with so much ease. Despite his haunted memories of his village being massacred. "I am sure I do not know you.. but there seems some kind of connection between us..." Her face seemed a bit surprised at what he had just said. "The poppies told me." His nose twitched and his roots began to retract into his body. "I can't help but feel it.. so I should ask you this." There was a slight pause but Gabriel spoke with haste so that she would not become frightened and paranoid. "Are you of the Leaukai?" He started to stand up so he can get a good look at her.
:Ravens eyes widened at the term the creature used. Leaukai? She hadn't heard that word in ages. She seen him perparing to stand and she felt like she was going to collapse. She rooted herself to keep her balance.
She cleared her throat and placed her ivy covered hand on her collarbone. After taking a few breathes she peered up at him:
"What did you just say?"
:She couldn't believe it. It couldn't be possible. But if he could hear the flowers speaking.. then he must be.
She stared at him, watching him stand. :
His face grew with concern as he was standing up and looking at her.
"You look as if your going to faint. But I believe I asked you if your a native of the Leaukai?"
His voice was shaky and you could tell he was nervous. His eyes began glowing the colors of his kind. A color of pink that would most definitely outshine a ruby. Only the Leaukai Natives had this ability. It was an ability to recognize another of it's kind.
"My name is Gabriel. I am what I thought was the last of my kind, but it seems I have mistaken." His veins was pulsing with reprise. His face shied off a little. But his eyes did not leave the connection of hers.
:Sweet nectar fell from her eyes as the begame to glow the same brillant pink as Gabriel's.
Finally she nodded: "I am...." His name repeated itself in her head.
"Gabriel." Another Leaukai. His eyes proved it. Feeling a little more steady, Raven released her roots and moved closer:
"I-I'm Raven." Now she was feeling nervous and overwhelmed. She could sense Gabriel felt the same:
Gabriel did not know what to think nor did he know what to say.
He was hesitant to speak but he spoke with pride. "Mazra De Etre is my true name. But those who I have accompanied seemed to think it was too long." He had a giggle that had so much innocence and yet you could feel his pain.. "You can call me by Gabriel or Mazra for short, Raven." The clouds have gathered and the sunlight had dimmed. "This is quite odd for me to meet another of my kind. It's more surprising than odd. If I may ask... what brings you to a place like this?"
He was pointing toward the Colosseum. But before she could answer he had to stop her to say one thing. "Please forgive my manners. It is rude for me to let you know who I am before I get to know you." Mazra swiftly put his hand upon his chest and too a bow. "I forgot to give you my honor of meeting another not so different from myself, and I must tell you that I was from the village south of the forest." A shroud of pain lit up his face. He remained quiet to hear what she had to say.
