It's been a year since the young Badger has been gifted with his powers and now he trains everyday to master the very thing he believed he would never receive. However on this particular day the overhead world where birds claim dominion was casting a deep gray and rolling clouds, but there was no rain. It was as if the rain was holding back from falling because the sky wouldn't let itself been seen to cry. A strange sight he watched with wonder as his training was coming to an end for the day. Smiling the young badger returned to his final moments of training but just as he took position lightning crackled throughout the world above and struck with a mighty blow in the forest close to him. Taken by surprise he fell over and laughed at himself for being startled, but as he was returning to his feet the sky released another massive bolt crashing in the same relative spot. Now being curious he went off to see what was happening.
Pushing through the shrubbery and low hanging branches the badger stopped and lowered himself as he neared the source of where the lightning was striking the earth. As he approached the clearing he could hear yelling and he moved faster to see if he could help, thinking someone was in trouble.
" I DON'T DESERVE THIS, WHY MUST I BE SO DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHERS!!!" a voice boomed through forest and pierced the badger ears with a familiar feeling that he too had felt for so long. Approaching the clearing in a dense spot of the forest as a river flowed nearby he peeked through to see a young wolf yelling at the sky. As the scene unfolded the young badger stepped out of his hiding area and walked slowly towards the wolf asking "Hey are you okay?"
Startled the wolf whipped around rigid but relaxed when he saw that it was only a badger and not his clan that was approaching. Sitting down to try and calm himself he answered the stranger, " Yes, I am fine, thank you for asking."
The badger finished his approach and smiled warmly. He walked very slowly towards the wolf and replied, "Just wanted to make sure, as the lightning struck here twice with such momentum and yet there seems to be no impact arou,,," his words trailed off as he looked to the right seeing a boulder the size of his cave split in two. Staring at it and then looking back at the wolf the young badger had an idea! "If I may, I've been looking for a sparring partner and you look like you could let off some steam so why not have a match with me pup?"
The wolf was taken back by this and scoffed at the idea as he knew the challenge would be trivial to him... Yet this opportunity with his identity hidden from the mud he had splattered all over him and coating his tail was a nice offer. However the words he spoke did not reflect what he was thinking, "As much as you think it would be a match, this opportunity you present would be more one sided and a waste of time." he looked up at young badger as he finished and was lost in a strange feeling as their eyes met.
A feeling the unbeknownst to him was shared from this stranger that was now circling around him. "Thats true it would be one sided as, I don't think you'd be able to keep up with the likes of myself!" boasted the badger, with a smirk and internal warmth from the feelings that were swelling within him.
Standing up to face the badger the wolf retorted, "Not one sided for you but for me, as you are clearly underestimating your opponent and that would be unwise, specifically in this case."
A smiled widened across the badgers face, as he stopped moving to share his new found opponents standing space, " Aww, c'mon!..." Badgered the badger, " No one will spar with me and you look like you could do with a good physical release that can only be found through a good fight!" as he finished he very calmly began to circle slowly and had a fun idea to help out his new friends desicion.
The young wolf a small half smile and very elegantly returned to the conversation, "As much as I share that sentiment, this fight with anyone other than my own clan would pro... HEEYYYY!!!" as the shouted erupted he moved to the other side of the clearing holding onto his tail from the pulling the badger had just done to it. With a new insight and a bit of playfulness that he hadn't felt since he was a cub, he agreed to the match.
"Wonderful!" Boasted the badger, "LET'S BEGIN!" the words roared as he slammed the ground ripping up rocks and lauching them towards his newfound opponent.
Taken by surprise the wolf dodged them with relative ease and insane speed. moving towards the back of the badger quickly he struck him in the back with a blow that launched him the water. Sitting up, on the rivers edge, soaked and smiling, the badge sank himself into the ground and tunneled quickly towards where he could see the wolf with his earth sense. Wondering where he would come from the wolf took a defensive stance and waited in anticipation of the next move. "What the.." He muttered feeling something grab his tail and pull him under up to his chest while the badger emerged in front of him.
"Now little pup, you gonna keep going easy or you actually gonna spar?" he asked in a very playful tone of voice.
Flabbergasted the wolf answered, "Very well."
The badger smiled but it quickly faded as the young wolf stuck himself with a massive lightning bolt that exploded his earthen prison, releasing him and knocking the badger forcefully into the split boulder that lay across the clearing. Wiping the blood from his lip and standing up the badger smiled and charged at the wolf but before he could reach him, the wolf had ran around to his left side, grabbed his leg and tripped him to which he flew for a brief moment before landing hard into the water that he had already escaped from. Sitting back up and smiling, "Yknow you're not half bad pup!" the badger spoke through a laugh as he stood up in the water.
The wolf replied in kind, "You could use some work on your technique but not too shabby for badger."
Walking out of the river the badger extended his hand, "How about we call this one a draw?"
The wolf looked puzzled and didn't know that it would over so soon. As he looked at the young badgers hazel eyes, he ultimately decided that it was probably for the best, "Agreed."
Upon clasping hands the badger smiled and introduced himself.
" My names Surique Rin. It's a pleasure to meet you!"
Replying in kind, "I'm Yong Surti, A pleasure to meet you as well." He smiled.
With the handshake coming to an end, Surique smiled and said before turning to leave, "This makes us friends, now if you ever want to spar again or just hang out, I live over at the waterfall near the earth capitol!" he began to walk away, "Don't be a stranger or i'll just come find you!"
Yong just stood there and watched as Surique walked away waving at him. He felt joy at his newfound friends words and as this feeling swelled , the clouds overhead broke with rain that washed away all the mud, revealing him to be the one and only Legendary White Wolf of the Storm. Little did he know though, the Badger he just fought and became friends with would change his entire world while he changed Suriques in kind.
