Heaven
The end is unfortunately drawing near,
My heart leaps, for this is what I fear.
As I stare at the ragged robe I wear,
I think to myself, “how much I no longer need to bear.”
I had lived a lonesome life, knowing soon I would leave,
An outcast from the cruelty of society's lion pack.
I had to run away, brown hair blowing and black tears streaming.
Emotional pins and needles, like several stabs to my back.
A great flash suddenly interrupted my living nightmare,
And two angels appeared, telling me not to be scared.
My robe was suddenly white as snow, and as I thought of my past, a dark abyss,
I prayed for those who were mean and angry, who I would surely not miss.
As I floated upward, the angels guiding my way,
White wings appeared on my back, soft and new.
I knew where they were taking me, a place where I would always stay.
Suddenly, Golden Gates, open, welcoming, and tall, came into my perfect view.
