Today started out like any other day. I went to the village next to my mother’s castle to pick a man to feed on. I spotted a traveling merchant that was cheating the poor villagers out of gold so I did my usual thing and gave him eternal damnation for being so greedy. When I got back to the castle Blaise was waiting for me not having a good look on his face. He just got back from a mission, properly. Blaise does tasks for heaven a lot and I can tell when he just got done with one. As I approached him he told me he had news about my father.

He explained to me that we got another letter from my uncle regarding my father, threatening to kill him if we don’t meet his demands.

‘Gabriella and Bella,
I will not hand Michael over until my demands are met. I want 900,000 gold to keep him alive and I want all of your clan out of the country never to return. They are a nuisance and a sin of nature.
Met my demands or Michael will die.

*900,000 gold is a lot* I thought to myself and he wants the royal Vampire Clan to leave the country. Grandfather won’t allow it as he is the head of the clan and I would be left here with no family. Grandfather and I are not on speaking terms right now. What am I suppose to do. As I thought for a minute I remember my mom telling me of a man she bit, a man name Syrus Carmicheal. That’s it! I thought.

As I folded the piece of parchment and slipped it in my pocket, I told Blaise that we must find this Syrus Carmicheal and ask for his help. As we were on our way Leigh shifted into a swan and flew off and found Liam sleeping on the ground from a long night of trying to get a decent meal, waking him up he came with us. A few hours went by and we arrived at Syrus’s Mansion. All four of us went in and pledge our allegiance to him to serve him until my father was found. He commented that he must think on it since he never worked with angels or yet even a half breed. We waited for what seemed like hours until he opened his door to his study inviting us in. After answering his question about what happen to my father he agreed to help.

Blaise and I agreed to start for the Shadowfire Mansion, my father’s home, in the morning and we all went to bed. The Morning was gray and cold as we set out on some horse.
