The normal form is daito that reaches 28”. The navy blue hilt consists of an ice crystal-shaped tsuba, with six arms radiating from the blade's center, and is long enough to be wielded with two hands.
The sheath is typical - with a plain color of navy blue. Nothing much is distinctive on the sheath except the three snowflake engravings found in its middle part.
Having a blade shape of shinogi-zukuri, the blade's kissaki portrudes ominously as a long tip. With a mitsu type mune, the blade allows better parry. The hamon follows the midare-togari style.
Shikai: Upon calling the release command, Hyouga shatters into multiple water droplets. The water droplets accumulate into an outline of a sword. The sword shimmers for a moment, then gradually blurring its appearance and becoming invisible.
In addition, an arm guard manifest in Keitaro's left arm. The arm guard consists of a grayish blue plate that is capable of retracting into a smaller form - a wrist guard.
Bankai: Ryuuhyouga Suishenin - Flowing Glacier, Flooded Field
When Keitaro calls for Bankai, the air becomes thick with mist. When in Bankai state, Ryuuhyouga Suishenin's reach is extended to the ends of the field of mist. The zanpakuto is now invisible to the naked eye as it is formed of many particles of water but it doesn't change shape when it enters Ryuuhyouga Suishenin. On a whim, Keitaro can freeze sections of the mist into solid ice and use it as a weapon against the opponent. Also, once in Bankai state, any movement within the mist is sensed through a sort of radar within Keitaro's head.
Techniques:
Tsurara Gaeshi (Icicle Reversal): The user stabs Hyouga into the ground. Water droplets underground starts to accumulate and condense. These droplets form snow crystals. The crystals assemble to form ice. A trail of icicle emerges in the direction controlled by the user’s reiatsu. An enormous ice pillar erupts at the end of the icicle trail.
Hisanryoukyou Joumae (Ice Prism Lock): Utilizing the abilities of Ryouhyouga Suishenin when the opponent is in mid air, Keitaro will freeze the mist around the opponent into solid ice trapping them inside.
Hisanryoukyou Iten (Ice Prism Demise): Once the opponent is caught in Hisanryoukyou Joumae, Keitaro will form two large blades of ice in the shape of diamonds on either side of the prism. Conducting them wit his hands, Keitaro will send them through the prism to impale the trapped opponent.
Shunpo (Flash Step): The user moves at such an incredibly high speed that it would appear as though they have disappeared.
Biography: Keitaro has little memory of his time spent alive. His memory starts on that rainy night when he met his adoptive guardian. The memory ends at another rainy night, the night of his death. After a chain of events, Keitaro found himself weak and exhausted.
Keitaro awoke near the outskirts of North Rukongai. A monk adopted Keitaro and took care of him. Keitaro, then, learned about shinigami and Soul Society. The monk, Susumu, encouraged Keitaro to enroll in the academy. Keitaro followed the advice, knowing that it would help him and his search.
After travelled a great distance from the 80th district of Northern Rukongai, Keitaro was able to reached Seireitei. Blocked by the gatekeeper, he showed the letter given to him by Susumu. He was then allowed to pass. He found the Academy and met his instructor, Maseo Ebisu. His training to become a shinigami began.
After a few months, he graduated from the Academy and was appointed to the Tenth Division. With a lot in his mind, he searched for a tranquil place and found a lake. There, he saw his division's captain, Jinsoku. After their conversation, Keitaro vowed to himself that he would be an asset of the Tenth.
After years of slaving for the tenth division and finding no respect he fled the Soul Society, plagued by a great evil looming within him. He traveled the lands alone, slaying anything that got in his way. Throughout those years he achieved Shikai and Bankai as a sign of respect from Hyouga, his zanpakuto.
Although Keitaro seems to care for nothing but himself, he will never allow any harm to come to Hyouga and will always throw his life on the line for hers.
