A Sweet Far Thing
strangers with faces in unfamiliar places
spirited away by the rising sun of day
sing to me your sweet temptations of the sacrafice of all creation
and of your delusions of avalon, torn away with each new dawn.
dance with the sprites in the shadows of the night
and give to the earth new life, rebirth
and make your soul anew while you bathe in the dew
in fields of strawberries where you watch the gleeful faeries
make paper flowers, on which the earth they will shower
show to me this world unseen hidden behind light and dreams
share with me your secret power while pippa waits in the vine filled tower
a merry time we all will share, till the small white rabbit is caught in a snare
and the sweet far thing, we knew it wouldn't last
so dismiss this illusion as I forget about the past.
