I am 5'6", and I weigh 90 pounds. I am not anorexic, I just have a super fast metabolism. [don't be jealous] I'm pretty much just skinny... I have light skin and brown-ish hair right now. Ummmm... is that good? I have really ugly legs... very skinny. And skinny wrists too. Small feet. Hmm... yup.
First, I began by perusing this user's profile and journal. She seems to really enjoy the color purple. If her avatar is any indication of her personality, she must like to wear black and purple. I wouldn't suggest dark colors for someone of a light complexion. It makes one seem even lighter in contrast to the dark clothes. And no one wants to blend in with a sheet of paper, right? Hmm... that's a tough one though. If one enjoys covering up it doesn't matter too much, but i'm sure for one from California there isn't a whole lot of heavy jackets and such. Probably a lot of shorts and tank tops. If my latter assumption is correct, she should stay away from dark colors. She loves her music, too. Maybe invest in some sporty clothing that shows of your favorite bands? At the end i'll post links to some potential winners. Skinny doesn't not necessarily equal ugly in the case of legs, especially when the rest of the body is equally skinny. If she had a large upper body and chicken legs it would look funny and could be considered ugly but when i think 5'6" and 90 lbs I think pretty even thinness. In this case you should go with some cute shorts or maybe even miniskirts if you're feeling adventurous. I'll look for some and post links. They may or may not go with the tops I pick so don't try to put all of them together; it might not work.
Oooohh this is soo much fun! xp I wish I knew the age of the person I was doing this for. Watch it be some 12 year old. Then people will think i'm some kind of *****.
Anyway, back to what I was doing. To the shoes! She seems like her own person, not one of those mainstream lame-o's. Converse and Airwalk offer a wide variety of styles, though they're a bit more expensive to get custom shoes done. The brands are pretty mainstream; everyone has a pair of Chuck Taylors or some cheap off-shoot. But because there are so many designs out there and the opportunity to design your own shoe, it is possible to take something that is normally mundane and make it extraordinary. Any shoe that is customizable seems the way to go or just something that no one else is likely to have. I'm not sure your financial situation, but shop outside of your normal price range to make sure you get something unique. For example, if all of your friends shop at American Eagle, go to Wal-Mart and find you some kicks. None of your peers will have the shoes you find because they've probably never bought anything that cost less than $50. Vice versa if you're part of the Wal-Mart crowd.
I can't think of anything else right now. If you have any questions let me know! Now on to the links. I could spend all day shopping for you but here are just a few samples of what I think would look good on you. It may be off without ever seeing you, but i'll do the best I can:
Here's yo shoe. You may not like the laceless flats but the basic design I think is cute.
Nevershoutnever tee It's mostly green, but it has lots of purple. I don't know if she likes green stare
Metro Station purple tee It's purple, it's Metro Station, and it's on clearance!
cute purple shorts from Obey These are too cute! I hope they aren't too skimpy.
purple camo tank You probably own one of these already; if not get one.
Mossimo purple tube top brilliant! I think we have a winner.
I hope you like it because I definitely spent like 45 minutes doing this.
