like a gentle lullaby that whispered to the air
a dream unanswered took the form of a prayer
"show me love and all that can be
heal the spirit inside of me
take ahold of my soul then lead it to light
and make me ready for this eternal fight"

the hand of love will show the way
and lead us into a brighter day
never give up even search high and low
if you find her don't ever let go
love is precious it doesn't come over night
that's why it's called the eternal fight

some wait a lifetime and still never find it
dying all alone without the hand of another
the closest thing to love was that of their mother
a never ending cycle the search never ends
most will make it some even fail
but in this world love will prevail

a hard long road full of blood and tears
rinsed in agony with your deepest fears
love hurts, it's not for the weak
listen to the heart and your head will speak
out of pain comes brighter days that shine through the night
It's forever it's long and there is light
also known as the eternal fight
