was horrible. dreadful. absolutely schizo.
you see, i'm part of NJHS--the National Junior Honors Society. we, as a group, complete service hours, come up with new things for the school to do, and the like. so, the school called yesterday and asked if i'd like to help out with the whole orientation open house thing. i, naturally, said yes. so, today, i had to wear my fancy red shirt, black pants, and a name-tag.
first, the rest of the NJHS group and i stood at the entrance of the gym and handed out papers with the announcement/greeting cerimony schedule on it and a map on the back. of course, nobody but me and a few of my friends were doing any work, so we set to handing out all of the fliers ourselves.
"Welcome to Progress Village, Sir/Ma'am! *Hands sir/ma'am a flier* If you require any assistance, feel free to seek out any students dressed in red shirts and name-tags and we'd be happy to help you. If you are in need of further instruction and feel that our assistance failed to suit your needs, feel free to locate a teacher and they'd be glad to assist you~"
argh. i had to say that fast about fifteen times in front of big crowds at the doors. damn unintelligent people. i mean, READ THE FRIGGIN' MAP I JUST GAVE YOU, IDIOTS! D<
and then i was PELTED with questions. i had to be like, "Please, either form a line and i'd be glad to help you, or find another member of the NJHS to assist your needs."
and then some of them left, which i was terribley happy about. but i eventually had to take people to the rooms because they STILL couldn't find them.
damn idiots. D<
