I have recently discovered how truly important the comma is.
And it was brought about by this sentence.
"Are you ready to eat children?"
I read it and my thoughts jumped to cannibalism.
then I read the same sentence over again, this time with the comma placed correctly.
"Are you ready to eat, children?"
That comma was the difference between cannibalism and feeding children.
Interesting, no?
