Description - Tiberius is a big guy. He's mostly muscle; old age has given him a stomach, but that hasn't stopped him from going out to sea every day. Tiberius had black hair when he was younger; now it's salt and pepper, heavy on the salt. His hairline is starting to recede just a bit. Tiberius has black eyes, or eye; he wears an eye patch over his left eye. There's hints of a scar, but no one knows if he actually lost the eye or not.
Tiberius' face is wrinkled and rough from years at sea and sky. It's more smile lines than frown lines. He has a grizzly mustache and beard that connects up with his hair. There's a large, ragged scar on his jaw half hidden by the beard. He's missing a few teeth, too. His nose is crooked; it's been broken many times.
Tiberius is also a hairy guy. He's got hair on his arms, on his chest, etc. He's also covered in scars. He's got a shark bite on his leg, bullet scars all over, a thick line across his torso from a sword fight, and lots of minor ones all over the place.
Clothing - Tiberius is a retired pirate captain. I bet you can come up with something (I know I can't). He does wear pistols on his belt most of the time, hehe.
Personality - Tiberius is a jolly old sea dog. His intimidating looks bely his gentle nature; at least, if you're not a military man or anything. He has a penchant for flirting with waitresses and teasing his friends and family. He loves to tell stories from his days as a pirate, epic tales of battles and lost treasure. He's a manly man through and through; he wouldn't cry for anything, and he'll skewer anyone who says otherwise! Tiberius gets mad pretty easily, but he forgives just as fast. It takes a lot to make him hold a grudge, like trying to kill him or something.
Character History - Tiberius has a long, colorful history. He was a street urchin as a child, specializing in pickpocketing coins and valuables from unsuspecting targets. One day he picked the wrong target: a military captain with a penchant for cruelty. He nearly got killed that day, but he was saved by a passing pirate who claimed the boy for his own.
From then on, Tiberius (then called Tib) was a pirate. He started as a cabin boy, working to pay for his place on the ship. He moved up in the ranks slowly over the years, learning the tricks of the trade from his fellow crewmates. When he was fifteen, the ship paid a visit to one of the larger port towns for a quick break from the sea. Tib met a pretty young tavern wench in that town, and enjoyed a wonderful night with her. The ship and crew left the next week, and Tib wouldn't see the girl again, though she would remember him forever.
For the next twenty five years, Tib lived as a pirate. He eventually took the name Tiberius from a a fallen enemy pirate, and struck out on his own with his own crew. He had many adventures, tangling with epic sea monsters and finding treasures thought lost to the world. He tangled with the military many times, especially with a young admiral named Nathaniel Arthram. The two always ended up in a stalemate, until the day a second pirate crew, enemy to both Nathaniel and Tiberius, came up on the horizon. The pair worked together to bring down the other pirate, and the battle was truly epic. After everything was finished, the two declared a truce, and never saw each other again.
Tiberius took to the skies afterwards, stealing an airship and continuing his adventurous life. He was getting older though, and after more than a decade sailing the skies, decided to settle down and retire rather than die as a pirate. He returned to the town he'd met the tavern wench in (though he didn't know that), and quickly made a name for himself as a fisherman.
One day, he got a knock on his door. He opened it to a sickly woman and a young girl. The woman asked him if he was Tib, and Tiberius answered yes. She introduced herself as Janet Arthram, and her daughter as Charlotte Arthram. Tiberius recognized the Arthram name, but not what it had to do with him. The woman quickly explained.
Tiberius had left the tavern wench a mother; nine months after he'd left, she'd had Nathaniel. She'd resented Tib for leaving her, and drove Nathaniel to joining the Navy as a way to get back at his father. Nathaniel enjoyed the military, and while on patrol met Janet. They got married soon after, and little Charlotte came into their life a year afterwards. Unfortunately, the Navy life was a dangerous one, and when Charlotte turned six, her father didn't come home. They soon got word that Nathaniel had been killed in the line of duty. Janet was given a widow's pension, and she raised Charlotte as best she could. Unfortunately, she caught sick a few years afterwards, and not wanting to leave her daughter an orphan, she went in search of someone to take care of her. Charlotte's other grandparents were dead, and they only had the elusive 'Tib' as a clue. It was sheer luck that brought them to Tiberius' door.
Tiberius was floored by the fact that he had family. Janet asked Tiberius to raise Charlotte after she was gone, and while Tiberius said no at first, he eventually agreed. Janet died, and Charlotte was sent to live with her grandfather. Raising her was one of the toughest things he ever did, especially since she wanted to join the military like her father.
Charlotte is now full grown and a war hero. Tiberius has never been prouder.
