Rawr. Prepare for rambling. Or just skip.
So I decided to do a bunch of improvements to my home. Namely knocking out water-rotted walls and floors. Its been fun. I need another can of paint though. And more sandpaper. Arg. The cold water knob wont turn the water completely off... thats what started the damage I think... I tried replacing an o-ring that was rotted abit, but it still leaks. I am confused. Though, there may be an o-ring missing at the bottom of the threads, but I cant tell without taking off the hot water knob, and I haven't located the shutoff valve for that yet. Though I suppose I could just let the water run to the ground, since I can see the ground through the hole in the floor. I havent nailed the floorboards back down yet.
After I put the floor back down, I'll nail up the drywall, paint the bathroom... lay down the tile. (theres this ugly mustard yellow crap in there right now. ew.) Then paint the living room and hall. I have a base of a medium, cool grey.. but since I'm getting a lighter grey for the bathroom I may do some texturing for the hell of it with whats left over. Sponge or ragging?... probably ragging. Aaaanyways. If I have enough extra I may get new carpet, but I'll probably just end up getting a scrap to cover up the torn up bit in the hallway.
Apparently its difficult to find an electrician with the time to put in a new electric meter and do an inspection so I can get my electricity turned on. The lack of said source has forced me to actually get up in the morning so I can work while there is sunlight. Blasphemy. No word on fixing my windows yet either. One of the maintence guys are supposed to 'look at it' friday. I was told I can turn in all of my reciepts for discounts of of the rent though... so thats really good. biggrin
I am having way too much fun doing all of this.
