The world is nothing but a dull listless wasteland in the eyes of the imortal. To me, I see only hope and opportunity. I've been taught to see only the celestial beauty found in only pure and sacred things and places. Yet Stonehenge and the greatest of chapels offer me no more pleasure than siting in sewage collection tank. How I'd rather stay amongst these short lived people for so much longer. I wish I could spend my life here. I'd give my immortality for one day on this planet. "Maybe you can." The 'Voice'. The creator of the infinitants and finites. With one word he can creat life or destroy everything we stand for. "I can grant you entrance to their world." My heart leapt into my throat, I could hardly believe I was actually hearing this. "In return, you must give me something." "Take my immortality, my beauty, my voice, my sight, take whatever pleases you! Just please! Let me go there." I begged, it nearly sapped all my strenght to force out the words. "I want something of great importance to the finites." I held my breath, hoping it wasn't something imposible for me to ever obtain. I could never have the luck they had, or the rash attitude, I couldn't even posses their hope. It elluded me. "I want your emotions." I froze, without emotions everything would pointless. Everything would be in vain. My existance would not draw any finite to me, it would only encourage further ostracization. I would forever be alone. But at least I'd be some place where even I could stand to hope that maybe I could releanr emotions. "I accept your terms." I said sternly, my hands sliding together as I hoped for something good to happen to me. I felt a jolt of energy surge through my mind and explode from eyes. I felt everything start to feel light. I felt as if I'd drifted into space and was floating amongst the stars again. Then I felt land beneath my feet. I eased open one eye to see the black fugue lift from being. The finites came into focuse and their world became mine. I collasped to my knees, grasping my head. I was finally in their world, I was finally one of them, even if not in life span. I felt no emotion swearling with in, no flutter of the heart, no anger towards the Voice, no anxiety. I was contented and for that I am grateful. I felt a hand land gingerly on my shoulder. I looked up at the finite that dared touch me. It appeared to be a man, a young man. His face was lit with a welcoming smile and his eyes seemed to dance in the minimal lightening of the moon. "Are you alright?" He asked, his smile only falling half away. I nodded and stood, brushing off my cloak. I realized at once that for some reason I still possesed my celestial robes. The dark robe with a black sash and my veil of shadows, the black cloak that allows me to watch the finites of the galaxies without their notice. "Are you lost?" The man asked, pushing his long lavander hair behind his ear. His face was so smooth and flawless, his violet eyes shimmered as he spoke. I couldn't resist taking hold of his thin chin and feeling ofr myself the delicate skin he wore. "Ey!" He shouted, knocking my hand away and jumping back. "Forgive me." I said and swished around, stalking off swiftly. "Wait!" The man called out as his thin arms wrapping around my mine. "Please, sir, don't leave yet." His frail body seemed even smaller as he said that. And there, for the briefest moment, I felt it. A pang in my heart as it fluttered momentarily.
