Final Exams
Well, here's my overall scores: Japanese- A- The first part was translating the announcements our teacher was reading (from japanese to english). We just had to include the basic gist. It was stuff like what foods are being served at lunch, when the assembly is and who has to go, voting for student reps on what day, and stuff like that. The second part was fun! We had to write a letter to a japanese pen-pal (not an actual person, just pretend). We had to introduce ourselves and talk about stuff like our age, school, grade, what we like to do, and what we did the past 3 days. I think I got a bonus for including a description of what I look like and talking about what I planned on doing tomorrow biggrin Geometry- B+ It was kind of hard sweatdrop There was a lot more on formulas for circles than I thought there was going to be... so yes. Basically I studied the wrong stuff D= That's okay though. My average in this class is high enough so my grade for the year was still an A biggrin Keyboarding- A+ (this is SO easy razz ) We had to type out a report and a business letter. The guy who sat next to me asked me what to do rolleyes The teacher told him to be quiet. (Well, that's what he gets for looking at my screen to check his format all the time twisted !) Honors English- B This is my worst subject... yeah. I liked the essay I wrote though, I thought it was good. The topic I chose was on how characters in books go on journeys where they change and discover themselves. I was originally going to use Helen Keller from 'The Miracle Worker', but I ended up doing Napoleon from 'Animal Farm' instead. He went on a journey that went on a dark path that corrupted him and amplified his traits of greed and selfishness transforming him into the thing he had once considered his enemy. biggrin I think it was actually one of my better essays. I wish I still had it D: But it was part of the final so I'll probably never see it again... Hawaiian Culture- A- Multiple Choice biggrin YES. And I studied! ^^ YAY! Biology- B+ Multiple choice again biggrin ...I think I got the stuff on sexual reproduction wrong again D: It's SO HARD!!! Oh, and anything that involved the pi dissection. I swear I almost threw up during that sad Those poor baby pigs...
Well, those are my grades ^^ ...at least I think those were my grades. sweatdrop um... the website with all of my grades got switched over to next year's schedule so the grades are gone now. I'll double-check my report card though =)
Yearbooks are PWNSOME
They're hard cover, thick, and really good quality. I got lots of people to sign, including all of my teachers! One of my friends drew a piggy and a sheep biggrin Another drew an anime school girl ^^ One of more friends even wrote pirate {more than} ninja "Yeah, I went there!"!!! evil Yeah well... ninja {more than} pirate "HA! Take that I went there!" Someone also took up a whole page o.o Oh, and some-ynitsed19-one drew DR. OCTAGONAPUS BLAH.... in america XD
Next Year Well, next year these are my classes: (yearlong) Honors English 10, Honors Algebra 2, Honors World History, Honors Chemistry, Japanese 2, PE 10, (semesterlong) Personal Health, (quarter long) School Service and Ekalesia (religion). I REALLY wanted to take Art History but there wasn't room ;_; And if I figured right, I won't have room for it next year either crying . That means I probably have to go to *shudders* SUMMER SCHOOL next summer gonk I've never been to summer school in my life! ...or any other summer program for that matter.
Random Things I've Figured Out About Myself
Well, I finally told my mom what I'm interested in doing. Well, she wanted me to go into architecture, but I kind figured I wouldn't be too good at that because of my science grades... I mean, I was good at science in middle school, but not anymore. I'm more interested in Math and Art. So I want to go into graphic design. ^^ I'm also taking Japanese language classes (and I plan to for four years) so that I can work with clients from Japan when I'm older biggrin . Also because Japanese is fun for me. Anyway, I'm really happy because I think I know I've been unintentionally hiding my feelings about becoming an architect because that's what my mom always told me she wanted me to do. Recently, my mom let me know that I can do anything I want, and that she knows she may have forced her thoughts on me a little too much.
I also figured out my religion. Well, technically it's not an actual religion. I'm a Liberal Theist. There are many loose interpretations of what this is, but I have my own definition of what I believe and this term fits the closest. "Liberal" can be defined as being tolerant, open-minded, free thinking, accepting of change, etc. "Theist" means a person who believes in God (an Atheist is a non-believer since "a" added to the front of a word can sometimes change it to mean the opposite, get it? ^^). The definitions of liberal I use are open-minded and tolerant. So what I am is basically a person who believes that there is a God and all of the basic concepts which revolve around him, but I am tolerant of all religions. However, I also apply the 'free thinking' definition, meaning that based on my own personal morals and beliefs I judge for myself what is and is not a religion I tolerate. For example, I believe suicide is wrong. So, hypothetically, if there was a religion that required you need to commit suicide in order to go to heaven, I would believe that to be a bunch of bologna. It's sort of a complicated thing to understand... sweatdrop But it's what I believe. This Wikipedia Article explains a basic idea of Liberal Theism, but it's not exactly the same as what I believe. Like how the article states "This means a Liberal Christian may not, for example, conform entirely to the description of God in the bible...They generally argue that people 2000 years ago did not necessarily have the correct idea." I actually believe people have a good idea of what God is, but as humans we lack the knowledge to know exactly what God is like or exactly how he wants us to live our lives. ...Come to think of it, another part of my belief is that people should not force their religion on others. So I would just like to state I am not trying to force you to think like me. In fact, I believe everyone should choose what religion they see is best for them and live that way (and if you choose Atheism, that's fine too). ...In conclusion, I'm Liberal Theist. Thanks for reading this even though it's somewhat of a rant.
