●●●●●☆ Cleaning My Room
Well, I wasn't TOTALLY planning to put it off this summer, but my mom threatened to keep me home from all the parties I was invited to if I didn't do it ASAP. So almost all of Friday was spent sorting, trashing, and pondering over the things in my room. I got about 1/3 of Area #1 of my room done. Area #1 is the big space next to my bed which is currently cluttered up by books, bags, art supplies, papers, and stuffed animals. But mostly books. Area #2 is the area near my room's doorway, area #3 is under the bed, area #4 is my desk, area #5 is the bookshelf, and area #6 is my dresser. Out of all of them #1, #2, and #4 are most definitely the worst.
I'm going to try to do minimum 1 area every one to two days. That way this *should* be done in about two weeks. I hope.
I know it's kind of weird I don't clean my room that much, but I don't actually get paid/allowance like most kids do, plus I NEVER have the time except during summer. I just have to do it, money or not. *sigh*
The good part is that I DID find 25 dollars in an old birthday card, which helped me out greatly today when I went shopping~
●●●●●☆ So I Went Over Budget =_=
So at the mall with my parents, first we had lunch, then shopped. Today I was actually looking for a costume for my friend's costume murder mystery party. I'm the queen of the mages! >D So I was looking for some type of dress and cloak to wear.
But first we made a pit stop by The Body Shop because I wanted to look into buying some Tea Tree foaming cleanser and toner. It turns out they were also having a buy two, get one free sale, so I ended up getting another bottle of Tea Tree body wash (this stuff is like miracle work if you have acne/skin problems on your back/arms/legs/wherever). And the total would have been just 26 dollars, but the lady there ended up convincing me to buy a "Love Your Body" card which gives me 10% off every purchase in addition to whatever sale they may or may not be having at the time. So my total bill was 34 dollars. =_= Way to go me! 10 dollars over budget! DX And the card only lasts one year...
However, I DID look up the card benefits online, and in addition to what the sales rep told me: - 10% off all purchases - Free birthday gift if you come in the month of your birthday (up to 10 dollars) (but I'll probably end up paying the difference considering 90% of everything they sell is over that price...) - On the fourth purchase get an item worth up to 15 dollars free. - On the eighth purchase get an item worth up to 25 dollars free AND get your membership renewed.
I highly doubt I'm going back there seven more times in the next year, though. But I did save 13 dollars total this time, which is equivalent to a third of my bill, so I guess that's not too bad. And if I factor in the free gifts and savings total excluding the 10% on purchases... I end up getting roughly 60 dollars worth of free stuff including a renewed card. Still, I'm going to have to do commissions or make jewelry year round to support my shopping there. Because despite the 60 dollars in savings, considering I'll end up spending at least 10 dollars each time I shop there... =_= *groan* *does calculations* Okay, so if I spend 100 dollars there in a year, I only get 41% off the stuff I get there for free. Which I guess isn't that bad... but still...
I hate having expensive taste... ==__==
●●●●●☆ So my costume...
After dealing with the extremely persuasive sales rep (seriously, these ladies are probably THE most persuasive ones I've ever met!) my parents and I headed to Borders to get my two summer reading books. "Way Finding Through The Storm" (which my mom thinks I should read, plus my school is REALLY pushing us to read it) (we had to put it on hold since apparently it's popular) and "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. ^_^ SCORE!!! Favorite author alert! 8D I even got a pretty hardcover copy!
After that we headed to Ross and after trying on clothes for a while, I found a nice blouse and long skirt that are comfortable and look good, plus the skirt isn't so costumey so I can use it without the costume too! This plus the wrap from there and the bangles, headband, and rings and found at Icing's make a nice costume indeed!
For shoes I'm using a pair of favorite boots and for make-up some shimmery eye shadow left over from prom and lip gloss I got from christmas! And earrings from christmas for extra accessory power!! 8DDD So, shopping complete! ^_^ Just gotta clean my room to please my mom and I'm all ready for the party! ;D
Well, for now I'm off to take a shower and squeeze in some summer reading and HeartGold before bed. (I FINALLY beat Claire after 3 tries! I mean, GOSH. Stupid Kingdra that always manages to stay alive with 5 HP when I'm on my last pokemon! DX)
Anyway, g'night and I'll blog more about summer later~ Hope you all are having as good a summer as I am~
