I let you grasp it in your hands and run your sharp nails across
I trusted you with everything and now I'm at a loss
The pain I felt as those nails sunk deep into my heart
The result of love at first sight, the result of a quick start
Working hard to help heal and mend each wound you ever had
Halting hurtful information like a noble Stalingrad
Tirelessly protecting you from those that made you cry
Simply grinning and responding “just because I love you” whenever you asked why
Witnessing your smile brightened my day
Feeling your lips caress mine made all my worries fade away
Your lips were like those silk sheets I remember
But summer love is always lost in late September
My past and present love life is not set to re-cord
The harmony of my heart repeatedly slipping into discord
Each time I relearn to love, I lose the tutor of my passion
My selfless love like a reoccurring fashion
