Well, I think almost everyday has been good for a while now. In the long run at least.
Today I had work and no class since its Monday. We went to this restoration site that was once used for illegal dumpings to remove an invasive. It was fun, digging them out and then nailing tarp over them. Kind of construction work-ish for that part. It reminds me of when Kutim-sasa refurbished our apartment. Except glue and tiles are more fun than nails and tarp. xD
I was asking Jason (Valorie's boss? or co-worker?) about the water body beside the place we were working, and it was apparently the Bronx River. He said it starts somewhere down in Westchester County and goes down to Long Island. Interesting that its so long and it looked pretty clean too. He said its almost to the point of cleanliness where people can swim in it.
We went to another restoration site nearby just a few blocks down afterwards. There was a recycled material area with huge piles of bottles! Like a landfill but nicer. xD And I got to see a water filtration system. =] It was interesting. To think that amidst the industrialized area there are places like these. Seriously, I HAVE to do something about all of these things. Not that it doesn't make a difference but I feel that we make a miniscule effort towards dealing with the problems at hand. LETS GIVE THOSE WEEDS DISEASES THAT DONT HURT THE NATIVES. LETS FIND A WAY TO FIX THE OZONE LAYER AND NOT JUST SLOW DOWN ITS DETERIORATION. SAME FOR GLOBAL WARMING. LETS WORK ON THAT ALGAE BIOFUEL! LETS ACTUALLY PUT SOME EFFORT INTO MAKING THIS UNFORTUNATE HUMAN RACE SUSTAINABLE IN THE FUTURE.
Okay. Well, anyway. xD There was this nice gas store near the place we worked today. I got pizza, yogurt, and water. And later after everything I got ice cream at McDonalds. I thought they give two toppings! They gave it in Manhattan and Flushing! T.T But in the Bronx, the person said only one. D=
Anyway, I feel like I got to know my coworkers better today. The few I didn't know that well before at least. I think the gossiping about each other and such needs to stop though.
