There is a confusing thing about Gaia I've discovered. It seems that a person's "age" on this site (I.E. the ammount of time they've been a member) is generally determined by the items their sportin'. I'm not exactly sure how this arose. I remember catching a load of flak for keeping my starter garb. Hey, it works for me. I've got a look and I'm keeping it. Yeah, I'll try something else out for maybe... a day or so, but I'll always come back to this look. It's personally what I was shooting for when I signed up. I was actually surprised they had the junk I was looking for. Hell, I drew this out about a year... no wait... four years before I had an account on here. That was about 6 years ago.
I'm not trying to go off on my own style, but what is the overall point? I've been noticing a, hmm... trend, so to speak, among most Gaians... no, not you specifically. It's okay, don't fly off the handle. It's just some folks.
The aformentioned trend is that a lot of people are bogged down in so much, well, crap... that you can't even see their avitar. It's just items all over them. I don't even see a theme sometimes. It just seems like a way to flaunt all the junk they bought. Gaia has been described as a role-playing forum. What role is being played? Hey, look, it's that character that can't walk due to all the s**t he has piled on him.
Man, I am... I'm not trying to knock anyone here. I know it sounds like I'm lashing out here but I'm not. I want to bring this up as an intellectual point. I just find it so... odd. What is the point of nabbing so much stuff that you lose your individuality? I rather like the more simpler looks some people are rockin'. It helps define them as a viable character.
I'm kinda' out of it... If you have a thought, comment on it. If you have a point to make, make it. Don't sit on your hands. Like I said earlier, I find that these are here for you guys. This is a way to freely exchange a flow of ideas without the inconsistencies of a forum thread.
If you ever want to vent, I'm open to PM's, I'll listen to ya'. I'm an empathic wall. If I can, I like to help people who need it.
Still no blue stuff. Just an exchange of ideas today.
Runnin' out of steam, socially speaking...
