Naruto or FMA? I really can't decide which is better. They are both REALLY good. Let's take a look at the positives and negatives of each.
Naruto.
Positives. There are numerous likeable characters in Naruto. (Kakashi, Sai, Ino, Shikamaru, Chouji, Asuma, Hinata, Kiba, Neji, Ten-ten, Lee, Gai, Tsunade, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, etc.) The characters have diverse personalities which makes the plot interesting. Each of the characters has their own story behind them which effects them in different ways. This shows strength in characters, wheather it be mentally/emotionally, or physically, and possibly both. Another positve about Naruto is that it teaches lessons. Life lessons like, determination and teamwork. These are lessons that most people carry with them to adulthood, and to display those lessons in an anime is simply fantastcic. Overall, Naruto is a good anime.
Negatives. The wierd thing about Naruto is that the main character is an annoying, hyper-active freak, obsessed with Ramen. This makes Naruto a very dislikeable character. Naruto also causes a lot of arguments. Mainly over couples. There shouldn't be. All those characters all happen to belong to mister Masashi Kishimoto. Most people have a lot of faith in certain couples, but Masashi might not even make any couples happen. Though, there are many couples that cannot be supported. Anyways, I really can't think of any other negative about Naruto.
Full Metal Alchemist.
Posritves. Full Metal Alchemist also has many likeable characters. Just like Naruto, I like more characters than dislike. Unlike Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist has a movie at the end of the series that follows the plot. This at least doesn't leave you with a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers.
Negatives. Can't think of any other than some lame couples...

Positives: Very intricate and astoundingly developed characters. I also love the way Kishi pulls Sasuke off as a brooding and dark person who cares only about himself, when in reality, that is so wrong; he was originally anti-social but warms up to them, considering them his precious people. He makes out Sakura to be a useless and annoying infatuated fangirl of Sasuke's, when she's really a caring and nurturing character. He makes out Naruto to be a pompous t**t who doesn't know when to give up, but he's actually a mature and great guy.
Negatives: It's so ******** sexist it hurts. Deny it all you like, but it's true.
FMA
Positives: Creative and unique aspects, with many plot twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. Though I like Naruto more than FMA, FMA is definitely better in the long run.
Negatives: There's EdxWinry action in the manga. sweatdrop Actually, I don't mind, but I thought that wouldn't be so nice for you.
